Welcome to the February 18, 2008 Edition of the Review Bloggers Carnival!
It's no secret. I like getting stuff. I like writing about the stuff that we like and perhaps make my family's life a little easier. Especially, if it works!
Or, I haven't managed to break it...YET!
Do you have a review blog - or, perhaps found a product (or, service) that you really, really like and you're aching to share with the rest of the blogosphere - then, you may be interested to learn that the Review Bloggers Carnival has come to This Full House!
Clean off a chair and come on in - mi casa, y su casa - as we canvas
the blogosphere and share together in the ultimate consumer
experience....window shopping!
WHAT'S HOT?
One of my earliest childhood memories - way before videos and around the time when dinosaurs walked the earth - is the excitement of going to see the latest Disney release with my favorite aunt; an experience my children and I now share every week during Friday pizza and movie night!
We've collected a lot of movies over the years - NOT for nothing, but it's called This Full House for a reason - as the magic continues.
Anne-Marie presents What do a Shark, an Eagle, and a bunch of cats Have in Common? with her review of one of MY favorites, The Aristocats and something new for parents, posted at A Mama's Rant, saying:
"If you liked Napoleon Dynamite or Little Miss Sunshine you will enjoy Eagle vs. Shark, an offbeat romantic comedy set in Australia that was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival."
GOSH, but I love window shopping ;o)
BOOKS
I'd like to welcome Mama Zen to the house - who happens to be a personal favorite and new blog read of mine - as she presents Review: Release Your Brilliance posted at The Zen of Motherhood, saying:
"Another self-help book! But, does it really help?"
CONSUMER EXPERIENCES
Customer service - dead or alive? I mean, really. It's SO hard to find GOOD customer service, these days - Sears and Verizon, are you listening? - and, unfortunately, Anne-Marie presents My Office Depot Rant Or What Is My Time Worth? posted at A Mama's Rant.
Andrew Caxton presents A Brave New World in Kitchen Islands posted at Home Decorating Reviews Blog.
ELECTRONICS
Kenton Newby presents Video Tip of the Week: Automatically Backing Up Critical Data posted at KentonNewby.com.
FINANCE
Due to the number of "money-related" posts submitted in past carnivals, I've decided to add Finance as a new featured category, allowing for reviews and opinions from all of the financial wiz kids of the Internets - heck, every little bit helps, yes?
John Crenshaw presents The Biggest Scam Your Bank Gets Away With Everyday posted at Truthful Lending dot Com, saying:
"This little known scam accounts for a huge portion of fees paid to banks every year and is going on right under your nose. The worst part is, it's completely legal."
Raymond gives us three submissions, this month, posted at Money Blue Book:
1. Which Online High Yield Savings Account Offers The Best Interest Rate?
2. My Favorite Reward Credit Cards and Promotions | Money Blue Book saying:
"Take advantage of hidden and bonus card offers"
3. 0% Balance Transfer Credit Card Offers (New and Updated)
GOOD THINGS
Yeah, my friend Anne-Marie's got some of that too! Yoplait Kids - getting better for you all the time posted at This Mama Cooks! On a Diet.
MUSIC
I am a big fan of jazz and was very excited to read Lovelyn's review of Jasmine Jamillah “When Heaven Falls” posted at Stop and Hear the Music, saying:
"Saturday is my big house cleaning day. I stick in a good CD–something I can sing along too–and clean every inch of our apartment. We have a small apartment so it doesn’t take long. This past Saturday I listened to Jasmine Jamillah’s When Heaven Falls while I cleaned."
Music and cleaning - why NOT - sounds like a great title for a blog, yes?!?!?
TIPS & TRICKS ONLINE
Navigating the Internets can be daunting - trust me, blogging and ignoring the laundry for nearly 5 years, I know - and my friend Tali provides a plethora of useful information, as she presents Become a Blogger with Yaro Starak and Gideon Shalwick posted at The Marketer Review, saying:
"If you’re a beginner blogger, or just want to move your blog to the Wordpress service, Yaro Starak’s and Gideon Shalwick’s Become a Blogger is just for you."
Tali also seems to know a whole lot about marketing, too - dang, she's good - as she presents Armand Morin’s “An Obvious Truth” - Possibly too Obvious, saying:
"Armand Morin’s free report, “The Obvious Truth”, that accompanies his newest release, “Internet Marketing Explained”. Unabashedly simplistic seems to be the new stellar seller in information products."
Tiffany Colter presents Lesson Learned and How I got here posted at Writing Career Coach, saying:
"This blog discusses how to have success beginning from the first day of this New Year!"
WEBSITES
One of the best things about hosting a carnival - besides, saving readers precious surf time - is meeting new bloggers.
Like, Supermom in NY - gotta love that name and she's a fellow right coaster, btw - as she presents 5 Sites Parents and Their Kids Will Love! posted at Snow White, 7 Dwarves and PDD, saying:
"I spend a lot of time online . These are a few great sites I have stumbled across..."
Supermom in NY is also submitting 101 FREE Travel Games and Road Trip Ideas for Kids! posted at Free Fab Stuff for your review, saying:
"I hope parents and their children will enjoy this great find!"
[cracks knuckles and blows bangs out of eyes]
PHEW!
That concludes the 14th Edition of Review Bloggers Carnival - thank you ALL so much for your terrific submissions, this month - it's a brandy new year and I look forward to working with and meeting many more bloggers, like you!
You can submit your blog article to the next edition of review bloggers (deadline is March 2, 2008) using our carnival submission form and reviewing our submissions guidelines.
Go ahead, it's easy - past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page - just write about the things you like and share it with the rest of us!
Happy Reviewing!
