Welcome to the February 4, 2008 Edition of the Review Bloggers Carnival!
It's no secret. I like getting stuff. I like writing about the stuff that we like and perhaps make my family's life a little easier. Especially, if it works!
Or, I haven't managed to break it...YET!
Do you have a review blog - or, perhaps found a product (or, service) that you really, really like and you're aching to share with the rest of the blogosphere - then, you may be interested to learn that the Review Bloggers Carnival has come to This Full House!
Clean off a chair and come on in - mi casa, y su casa - as we canvas the blogosphere and share together in the ultimate consumer experience....window shopping!
WHAT'S HOT
I’m honored and excited to be apart of Green Mom Finds and, along with an eco-fabulous group of women, we've made it our mission to find products and services that are kinder to the earth and better for our children and families. No, I'm NOT an expert - although, my husband Garth (not his real name) believes that I maintain a high level of distinction for breaking things - that's why I look to my blog friends, you know, for support!
Tiffany Washko presents BPA Free Sippy Cups - Part Two posted at Natural Family Living Blog.
Alison Sharley presents Top Ten Green Personal Care Products for the Family posted at Healthy and Green by the Day, saying: "I think this post will fit right in!"
Makeup Moxie presents Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Foundation Gets a Make-Over posted at Makeup Moxie's Beauty Blog.
BOOKS
Yesterday, we took the kids to visit my parents and found my mom, waiting for us by the front door, armed and fully loaded with a few choice words about their...um...squirrel problem.
A quick trip to Wild Birds Unlimited and she was convinced that all she needed was a squirrel baffle, instead of a bee-bee gun!
The kids saw a whole OTHER side of their grandmother - one I immediately recognized, by the way - and quickly realized that nobody messes with Mama's birds!
Perhaps, you'll understand why I was very happy to receive GrrlScientist review for Speciation in Birds posted at Living the Scientific Life saying:
"By Trevor Price, is a wonderful review of the literature that reveals the process and nature of speciation in birds."
Great idea for Mother's Day - we seem to be fresh out of bee-bee gun reviews - thanks!
ELECTRONICS
In our last issue, I expressed my husband Garth's (not his real name) desire for a home theater - not to mention, my thought that our actually buying one was highly, you know, unlikely - and Sutocu insists on mocking me with the latest Onkyo HT-S907 Review posted at , saying:
"Onkyo HT-S907 is a high end home theater system with an impressive array of features to back up its price tag. It comes with an A/V receiver, six disc DVD changer and a 7.1 surround speaker set. Its features are complemented by an impressive look."
Swell.
GOOD THINGS
This issue, my blog friend Tali presents The Internet Business Manifesto (a.k.a “The Schefren Slap?) posted at The Marketer Review, saying:
"The past few months have brought me to a boiling point. As I couldn’t find any worthy freebies to review, I went head-first into my treasure chest of long-lost free reports and retrieved something worth reviewing: Rich Schefren’s Internet Business Manifesto."
MEDIA
I love music and, like our next reviewer, listening to the radio makes me happy - especially, cool jazzy-type pieces from our local cd101.9 - and Lovelyn's blog is all about sharing the joy of music.
Today, Lovelyn presents The Half of It “The Half of It” posted at Stop and Hear the Music.
My friend kailani (and fellow Parent Bloggers member) talks about Barney & Friends Celebrating Around The World posted at An Island Review.
TIPS & TRICKS ONLINE
A frequent contributor to the Review Bloggers Carnival (read: our BFF) Tali presents 1 Way to Becoming a Better Marketer posted at The Marketer Review, saying:
"A hilarious video prompts some harsh words."
Welcoming his expertise in personal finance and investing (seriously, these days, who wouldn't?) Raymond presents My Favorite Reward Credit Cards and Promotions | Money Blue Book and Zero Percent Balance Transfer Credit Cards With No Fees | Money Blue Book.
On the services side, Raymond reviews Which Online High Yield Savings Account Offers The Best Interest Rate? You can find these, and more from Raymond, at Money Blue Book.
WEBSITES & OTHER FUN STUFF
I love going clothes shopping and eating out (AGAIN, who doesn't?) unfortunately, in my case, the two do NOT mix well - especially, with my waistline OR my wallet - reading fabulous reviews, however, is an exceptionally yummy combination!
Fellow NYC pop culture enthusiast (and self-proclaimed lover of brunches) Sarah presents Best NYC brunch spots -- my picks posted at SARAHSPY.
Tracee Sioux presents Lucky, Lucky, Lucky Me posted at Blog Fabulous, saying:
"Zafu.com really will find, out of all the jeans in the world, the ones that will fit your body best."
And Jesus wept...AMEN!
