Welcome to the March 31, 2008 Edition of the Review Bloggers Carnival!
It's no secret. I like getting stuff. I like writing about the stuff that we like and perhaps make my family's life a little easier. Especially, if it works!
Or, I haven't managed to break it...YET!
Do you have a review blog - or, perhaps found a product (or, service) that you really, really like and you're aching to share with the rest of the blogosphere - then, you may be interested to learn that the Review Bloggers Carnival has come to This Full House!
Clean off a chair and come on in - mi casa, y su casa - as we canvas the blogosphere and share together in the ultimate consumer experience....window shopping!
WHAT'S HOT?
We've already had our first Spring Break - a 3 days off during Easter weekend - short, but sweet and my kids are totally looking forward to having another 3 days off during Passover.
Unfortunately, breaking the vacation up in this way (in my opinion) just doesn't make for very good planning.
Still.
It's never too early to think Summer vacation. In fact, my husband thinks that it IS probably about time we made some sort of plans. Yes?
MayberryMom presents Splish splash cool pool! posted at The Full Mommy, saying:
"My 5-year-old daughter and I were invited to check out this brand-spankin'-new water park hotel in Gurnee, Illinois. (That's halfway between Milwaukee and Chicago, and about a two-hour drive from where I live.)"
Taking your kids a little further, perhaps?
Seabird presents Review: Whistlefritz Spanish DVDs posted at SeaBird Reviews, saying:
"Yet another excellent resource for introducing kids to Spanish!"
After ALL that day-tripping, Momma's going to need some sleepwear!
Jenny presents Comfy and Stylish Wear for Women posted at the so called me.
BABY & MOMMY
Taking inspiration from our next reviewer, we've added a new category to our ever-expanding list of products to talk about; Goodies for Mom presents two reviews.
First up, Product Review: Angel Baby Products from Earth Mama Angel Baby followed by Product Review: Angel Baby Products from Earth Mama Angel Baby posted at Goodies for Mom (and baby too!).
Aparna presents Dabur Vatika Hair oil: Review posted at Beauty and Personality Grooming, saying:
"I haven’t tried using too many commercially available herbal hair oils partly because I don’t want to end up losing hair by experimenting with unknown products. But when my friend who has thick, luxurious hair told me how after using Dabur Vatika hair oil, her hair got a visible shine and helped her to deal with long term hair-fall and dandruff, I decided to give it a try."
I don't know about you, but - after the weird winter we've had, here in Jersey - I could use a little hairpy right about now!
BOOKS
Rachel presents Good Night, Mr, Night Book Review posted at Bakedblog.com (a Mothers blog about baking, cooking, parenting, and enjoying all things in Life) , saying:
"I have owned this children's book for over two years. It is a delightful book with great pictures. My son is captivated by this book!"
Not so much for children, as it is TOTALLY about...you know...raising them, Seabird presents Review: The Dangerous Book for Boys posted at SeaBird Reviews, saying:
"Conn and Hal Iggulden have created a remarkable book. The Dangerous Book For Boys is a guide to all things interesting and adventurous that boys of a certain age should know and do...."
Tali presents John Chow - The Dark Side of Making Money Online posted at The Marketer Review, saying:
"John Chow is a very controversial figure in the blogging-for-money landscape. This is probably the reason why he knows how to make so much money."
Tali's has yet another book review for us - really, girl where DO you find the time? - presenting, Jack Humphrey’s Authority Black Book 2008 - Very Necessary posted at The Marketer Review, saying:
"Like most second editions the changes made to the Authority Black Book 2008 aren’t huge, but they’re very necessary."
FINANCE
I don't know about you guys, but grocery shopping used to be a relaxing little getaway for me. A time when I could cruise the aisles, not have to answer to anyone and...you know...read, uninterrupted, for a couple of hours.
Holy Hannah Montana - the price of milk and eggs, how they burn my eyes - food shopping just isn't any fun anymore, damnit!
Opening our charge card(s) statement(s) can be downright scary.
Raymond shares how we can Save Money With Grocery Credit Cards and How To Get Free Stuff By Using Drug Store Rebates (CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens) posted at Money Blue Book.
GOOD THINGS
I love chocolate; I love people who make chocolate and ESPECIALLY when they send it to bloggers, who...you know...eat it and then review them!
NAOMI presents HOTEL CHOCOLATE EASTER EGG REVIEW posted at Diary From England.
You are SO right, Naomi - chocolate is a very, very good thing!
GREEN FINDS
As a contributing blogger to Green Mom Finds, we've been making little changes in purchasing habits at our house. Trying to, anyway. Going green doesn't happen overnight - unless, you've had your hair highlighted and decide to take a late night swim in your pool, anyway - but, finding alternative cleaning products is a good start.
Alison Sharley presents Do you love Method cleaning products? Then read this… posted at Green Me.
MEDIA
Children's television has changed a lot, since I was a kid - anyone even remember The Electric Company? - children seem much more savvy, these days.
Unfortunately, so is the subject matter on some of the programs they "used to" watch. Until, I put my foot down, blocked a few channels and insisted that they, you know, NOT grow up so fast.
Rachel presents Noggin Review posted at Bakedblog.com - a Mothers blog about baking, cooking, parenting, and enjoying all things in Life., saying:
"Come and see why this channel is the one your preschooler or toddler should be watching. My son loves this channel and if he is going to be watching TV, I don't want him watching any other channel then this one."
10 points for anyone who can tell me:
What 4-time Oscar-nominated and award winning actor first appeared on television with regular appearances on the Electric Company?
Give up?
Here's a clue: I would love a million dollars, right about now, baby?
SERVICES
Speaking of television, cryton presents Secret Deals You Can Use to Get the Cheapest ATT Yahoo DSL posted at Welcome Back Rosenthal, saying:
"DSL at 10 dollars a month from ATT is possible. As is DSL from them without their phone service."
TIPS & TRICKS ONLINE
Discussing the benefits of good business and sharing an example of how being nice to your customer really does matter (A-to the-MEN, man!) Joshua C. Karlin presents An Opportunity Not to Be Missed posted at Internet Business.
TOYBOX
Last, but certainly NOT least, Jenny presents one of our family's favorite new toys -- Baby Jamz Jammin’ Microphone » the so called me posted at the so called me.
