[9/01/08 - Monday: Comments are closed, this giveaway has ended - CONGRATULATIONS, Cindi!!!]
Welcome to Day 2 of our Back-to-School Picks & Giveaway sponsored by some awesomely generous people who have graciously agreed to provide some really cool stuff for you (yes, YOU!) and your...I mean, mine...okay, isn't it time we ALL kicked our kids...back-to-school!?!?
Seriously, I've got lots of great stuff to share with you.
Our kick-off giveaway drew 400 responses - Holy Craps! - what a great way to celebrate the last week of summer!
Having 4 kids, attending 4 different schools this year, we've got something for everyone and giving cool stuff away, everyday:
Day 1: Coloring Fun - for my 2nd grader, Mini-me.
Day 2: Sports and More - for my 4th grader, The Boy.
Day 3: Street Smart Supplies - for my 7th grader, Thing Two.
Day 4: A New Backpack - for my...GULP...9th grader, Thing One.
Day 5: TGIF: It's movie night.
Day 6: Lunch Box Fun and Healthy Snacks.
Day 7: Best Tressed for School.
Day 8: Study Guides for Kids and Parents, too!
These picks, as always, are advertorial free. No one is paying me, to talk about their product. It's just some really nice stuff that I thought you guys would like, too.
Let's keep it going, okay?
3 out of 4 of my kids play soccer -- my 14-year-old girl is just NOT all that into sports -- which means, I am committed to spend the next 10 Saturday mornings quietly playing the role of the "good" soccer mom.
[shrugs]
Yeah, I could probably think of about a dozen other things I'd rather be doing -- laundry, NOT being one of them -- but, as perhaps most parents will agree, encouraging our kids to keep active now will, hopefully, strengthen their desire to live a healthy lifestyle.
Me?
I'm not very athletic, either -- Thing One gets her grace (or, lack thereof) from me -- I do, however, make a wicked Snack Mom!
Quaker Oats sent us these new Chewy Granola Bars to try and my kids ate them...ALL...in one weekend. They thought that both the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and Nutty Peanut Butter brands tasted more like dessert and I loved that, you know, even I could tear into one snack along the sidelines, guilt-free:
- 110 Calories
- Good Source of Protein
- Made with Whole Grain Oats
- Cholesterol Free
So, what else is inside Quaker Snack Bars - their website, I mean:
Family Fun: Expert advice and tips on keeping your kids active.
Kids and Moms Care Clubs: A special network that inspires moms and kids to give back to their communities, in the spirit of volunteering in elementary and middle-school children.
Nutrition Notes: Helpful tools and articles to teach helpful eating habits to your kids.
Aaaand, they wrapped it all up in one tricked-out sports bag!
Want one?
One winner will be shipped a sports bag filled with some fun (but practical) items for activity-filled family days (i.e., soccer ball, tennis balls, sports socks, fun shoelaces, water bottle, etc.), along with a few boxes of Quaker Chewy Granola Bars with Protein, courtesy of Quaker Oats.
My sincerest thanks to Quaker Oats for sponsoring Day 2 of our Back-to-School Event!
