Back-to-School Picks & Giveaways 2008 - Day 7
[9/6: This giveaway has closed and WE HAVE A WINNER - Congratulations, Abby!!!]
Welcome to Day 7of our Back-to-School Picks & Giveaway sponsored by some awesomely generous people who have graciously agreed to provide some really cool stuff for you (yes, YOU!) and your...I mean, mine...okay, isn't it time we ALL kicked our kids...back-to-school!?!?
Seriously, I've got lots of great stuff to share with you.
Our kick-off giveaway drew 400 responses - Holy Craps! - what a great way to celebrate the last week of summer!
Having 4 kids, attending 4 different schools this year, we've got something for everyone and giving cool stuff away, everyday:
Day 1: Coloring Fun - for my 2nd grader, Mini-me.
Day 2: Sports and More - for my 4th grader, The Boy.
Day 3: Street Smart Supplies - for my 7th grader, Thing Two.
Day 4: A New Backpack - for my...GULP...9th grader, Thing One.
Day 5: TGIF: It's movie night.
Day 6: Lunch Box Fun and Healthy Snacks.
Day 7: Best Tressed for Pre-school.
Day 8: Study Guides for Kids and Parents, too!
These picks, as always, are advertorial free. No one is paying me, to talk about their product. It's just some really nice stuff that I thought you guys would like, too.
Today, we're going back to pre-school!
Though, my youngest is 7, I can STILL remember how very difficult the first day of pre-school can be -- oh, the tears and the long goodbyes -- and I'm pretty sure that my kids were a little nervous, too.
My two oldest girls (they are 12 and 14) both started as soon as they were potty trained -- since, I happened to be pregnant, both times -- and my son, well, I signed him up for the 4-year-old program and, at 9-years-old, The Boy STILL has a problem with leaving his Momma behind.
My youngest?
Well, we were 20 minutes early because the girl couldn't get there fast enough!
[swallows lump in throat]
Yep, the first day of school CAN be really, really hard and, if you were to ask me, the best tip I have is to make sure that we ALL get a good night sleep.
Riiiiight.
Then, I met pediatric sleep expert Dr. Jodi Mindell at a Mommyblogger event for Johnson & Johnson and she has become a perfect ally in strengthening our family's bedtime routine.
She's awesome, with her sleep schedules, expert advice and encouraging parents that...yes...you to can be sleep deprived, no more!
FIND IT HERE: Parents can find expert advice and tools for better sleep by visiting Johnson's Baby!
Then, there's the thing with the hair.
UGH.
Dry, oily, straight and fine, or curly to the point where even the strongest of morning routines couldn't stand up to the...OUCH, you're hurting me...we've got it all at our house!
What to know my secret weapon in the battle of the brush?
Johnson & Johnson Leave-in Conditioner detangles and conditions hair in one easy step - there's no rinsing required and gets through the toughest of knots!
Sounds good; anything else?
Music soothes the soul and you can rock your little beastie's new look with That Baby:
Created by a mom and dad, That Baby features acoustic cover versions of songs made popular by artists like Fleetwood Mac, Neil Diamond, The Pretenders, Joni Mitchell, and others. Each song on the DVD is set to a colorful music video -- think, MTV for infants and pre-schoolers -- and the CD is a refreshing alternative to the same-old-same-old children's music for adults, too!
FIND IT HERE: That Baby Dvd, That Baby CD
But, wait...there's more...I've got something to help us busy moms (and dads) keep calm about the new school year, too!
Johnson & Johnson Dreamy NIght Cream, just like it says, is enriched with an exclusive AROMASOOTHE fragrance that helps calm and relax your senses. It's great for Mommy's (and Daddy's) tired feet, too!
Speaking of stress, can we talk about the crazy schedules our kids have today!?!?
BusyBodyBook organizers are ALSO great -- I have one -- and it's got columns to keep track of household projects, babysitter instructions, meal planning, personal goals, vacation preparations, important clients, kid's school subjects and plenty of room for extracurricular activities.
FIND IT HERE: BusyBodyBook.com
Want one?

[Oh, and did you know that we host a Review Bloggers Carnival, too?!?]

I've never tried no tangle in anything but a spray. Is it more effective in a lotion-type style?

Hi Cathy,
I believe the leave-in lotion works best for really, really unruly and/or curly hair.
GOOD LUCK!

I have never tried anything other than the spray detangler, but a lot of times you have to use enough to make it drippy, maybe the conditioner stuff works better and is less messy!

Awesome giveaway - I have a 3 1/2 year old entering preschool so this would be perfect! (Gulp! Apparently he gets HOMEWORK every other night.)
P.S. Lest you think I'm sending him to a boot camp, his school is totally awesome and I suspect "homework" will be to read a book or practice letters for a few minutes. I'll find out at our parent-teacher meeting.
