Back-to-School Picks & Giveaway 2008
[Update: The giveaway for the "Wrap Master" has ended -- CONGRATULATIONS, Melinda Toungette!! -- our Back-to-School Event BEGINS THIS MONDAY, August 25th and ends on September 1st. Readers will get a chance to win a prize, every day!]
Welcome to our Back-to-School Picks & Giveaway sponsored by some awesomely generous people who have graciously agreed to provide some really cool stuff for you (yes, YOU!) and your...I mean, mine...okay, isn't it time we ALL kicked our kids...back-to-school!?!?
Seriously.
Having 4 kids, attending 4 different schools this year (yes, in the same town) my husband, Garth (not his real name) and I try really hard to pick and choose our children's back-to-school supplies very, very carefully!
It doesn't always work. Sometimes, we score...big time.
Like now (during the week of August 25th and September 1st) I've got lots of great stuff to share with you. These picks, as always, are advertorial free. No one is paying me, to talk about their product. It's just some really nice stuff that I thought you guys would like, too.
Oh, did I mention the really cool prizes and awesome giveaways!?!?
In addition to having some fun articles to read, with tips on how to make going back to school fun, you can win some amazing prizes... like backpacks, books, childrens clothing, games and really fun homework aides from Microsoft, just in time for school to begin.
Let's start now, okay?
All 4 of my kids schlep their lunches to school (buying pizza on Fridays, only) and guess who gets to pack them? THEY DO! But, wrapping up their sandwiches in plastic wrap, or foil can be a real pain. Literally, I end up slicing my finger, or ripping the box to shreds in frustration...every gosh-darned time.
Then, I heard about a great new kitchen gadget - it's called the WrapMaster and, in my opinion, it is a perfect solution of easing the morning-rush for busy moms (and dads) like us!
So, what's it do?
It is an inexpensive, lightweight, safe and easy to use, totally child-friendly, aluminum foil and plastic wrap dispenser. It comes in single or combo units that can fit in a drawer, sit on a counter, or be tucked into a picnic or tailgate basket.
Want one?
To kick-off our week long Back-to-School event, the lovely makers of WrapMaster will send one of our lucky readers an Aluminum Foil & Plastic Wrap Dispenser Combo Pack!
(Retail Value: $29.95)

I hate the box plastic wrap dispensers! It seems like my finger always gets cut somehow :)
Posted by: Amanda A | August 08, 2008 at 03:46 PM
This looks like a much better method than my "pile of long skinny boxes under the sink" method.
Posted by: Cathy | August 08, 2008 at 04:32 PM
So put me in for the wrapmaster for other things in the fridge however might I suggest some reusable boxes to eliminate waste for the kids lunches. I think Bento Boxes is one brand that gets high reviews amongst kids and parents...or plain old gladware that have diff compartments.

I thought it was difficult having two children attend two different schools in the same town! LOL. You are sponsoring such wonderful contests. Please enter me in your drawing. My husband buys large quanities and such, thus using large amounts of plastic wrap and tin foil. He would love this prize and it is his birthday in September! Thanks very much.....Cindi

Posted by: Helen | August 11, 2008 at 08:36 AM
Oh I could so use this! I too have cut my fingers so many times on the boxes, especially plastic wrap. I can NEVER get that wrap to cut off right. I always end up getting half of it stuck on the box and it gets all over the place. You know how that stuff sticks to it's self and then you have to peel it apart.
I think these are a "must have" for every kitchen.
Thanks for the GREAT giveaway!

Posted by: Hil'Lesha | August 11, 2008 at 10:48 AM
My mother had something a bit similar back in the late 50s. (Larger, more awkward.) It was for aluminum foil, waxed paper, and one more that she didn't use much, which may have been for plastic wrap. This was mounted to the wall under the kitchen cabinets.
