As most parents, I happen to believe my children are brilliant -- although, they certainly don't get it from me -- and I am very proud of the fact that my 12-year-old daughter has been an honor student, since the 3rd grade.
The year she insisted on wearing black and talking street, not so much!
Suffice it to say, she is our middle daughter and, let me tell you, the girl has some serious negotiation skillz.
Still.
Sometimes, I have to remind myself that, you know, I am the mom and it's really hard to learn when to step back and allow my children the chance to find and express themselves, freely.
Yet, we both find inspiration in the smallest of things.
