Suave Beauty Products: Helping mothers feel pretty, all over again!

[This giveaway has ended:  WE HAVE A WINNER - Congratulations, Deb!!!]

Motherhood2

Gimme a head with hair, long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming, steaming, flaxen, waxen
Give me down to there, hair!
Shoulder length, longer (hair!)
Here baby, there mama, Everywhere daddy daddy...

Now that I've got that song stuck in my head, too - and will probably be singing it for the rest of the day - I was recently asked if I would be interested in trying out the Suave Professional Hair Care brand of products.

What types of hair does my family have, anyway?

[blows bangs out of eyes and cringes]

All of them!

Straight, thick, wavy, fine...oh, and my youngest daughter (she's 7) has a head full of cowlicks.

Bandofcowlicks

Just like her Momma!

Look, motherhood isn't always pretty - I've got 4 kids, trust me, I know - and it's the very reason why I was excited to receive a package from Suave filled with enough beauty products for the whole family to try.

Okay, it was more like 2 big bags of stuff.

"Squee!"

As a mother of a teenager, a tween and two pre-tweens - ALL with different types of hair problems - I'm ready to, "Squee!" to just about anything...especially, a marketing campaign that really DOES work!

You see, Suave knows that being a mother is sometimes...okay, almost always...a dirty job.

We're so busy taking care of our family's needs that...well, I can't remember the last time I took a hot bath, or a shower for longer than 30 seconds, let alone remembered to shave both of my legs, at once.

Do you?

Well, Suave gets us and has dedicated a large portion of Suave.com to sharing stories of "real moms" and created a very smart advertisement campaign around it.

I mean, us - here's my story.

Inneedofhairpy_2

It's supposed to hit 90+ degrees today here, in Jersey - seriously, it's September - and I am living proof that it is neither heat, or the humidity that causes bad hair days.  It's BOTH - the fact that I have very straight (and fine) hair probably doesn't help, either.

Suavevolumizingshampoo_2Suavevolumizingconditioner_4

According to the Beauty Profiler on Suave.com - it's really fun, you should try it - chlorine, color treatment, heat styling and sleep deprivation are all suspect, leaving me seriously susceptible to bad hair days, as well.  Suave suggested I use their Professionals Volumizing line of shampoo, conditioner, styling foam and finishing spray.

Happyhairpy

The first thing I noticed was its soft pleasant scent (laced with tiny hint of vanilla, I think) and normally I wouldn't use conditioner (a little too gummy for my fine hair) but, Suave's formula was lighter than I expected and washed right out.  Even after blow drying, my hair felt (and looked) fuller.

Unphasedbyhumidity_2

Even after dropping of my two youngest children off by the "walkers" door at school, this morning - which, of course, meant that I had to actually, you know, get out of the car - my hair seemed unphased (yes, it's word!) by all the humidity; unlike my shiny face.

UGH!

I like being able to rely on one brand for all my hair care needs and it's sort of like, I dunno, putting together an awesome new outfit (that totally fits) and finding a really cool pair of matching shoes, too!

Suave products have an average retail price of $2.00 to $2.49 - great for moms (like me) who have been spending most (if not, all) of their extra cash on school supplies (ditto) and such.

Yet another reason to love Suave, they are one of the sponsors behind the awesome 20-minute video, featuring The Laurie Berkner Band - one of my...I mean, Mini-me's...favorite performers - floating around the Internets, lately.

Here's a quick preview:

The full version of the video can be found by clicking here and watching Laurie open up to Soundcheck about tough critics, motherhood and the importance of music is worth every minute!

Suave appreciates the fact that motherhood isn't always pretty - why yes, they DO read my blog - but, I love the fact that I received enough beauty products to have a mini-spa moment, right there in my tiny-ish bathroom.

Want some?

One lucky winner will receive our "2-Minutes for Mom Prize Package" filled with Suave Beauty Products, including  Suave Professionals line of shampoo, conditioner, styling product and finishing spray, along with calming body wash and moisturizing lotion (my 2 other favorite products) created special, just for you...yes YOU!...and your specific hair type, of course.
