In the real world, my girls have always loved to play with dolls, dress them up and pretend to live in a place where fashion, games and shopping ruled the world.
Who wouldn't?
Virtual worlds are all the rage and our house is no exception. On September 16th, the girls and I were invited to a launch party for ZwinkyCuties.com - a new preteen online virtual world site for girls 6 to 12 - unfortunately, we weren't able to make it into NYC, that day.
Did I mention, Jordan Pruitt was there!?!?
A few of my friends DID venture into "the city," however, and you can read Lynette's (a.k.a. Lynette Radio) most excellent recap here, as well as view the awesome pictures that my friend Kate (a.k.a. Katespot.com) took at the party!
So, what is a Zwinky?
ZwinkyCuties.com is a brand extension to Zwinky, one of the largest teen virtual worlds with more than 16 million registered users and 6-8 million monthly unique visitors. So, they decided to create a world for younger girls to safely explore their own creativity.
My youngest (she's 7) says it reminds her a lot of the Sims games that her 14-year-old sister plays, although, it is a lot less complicated to maneuver, thank goodness. They've also incorporated educational games where a player can earn points for using her noggin' (YAY!) and Mini-me loves the fact that she has her own bedroom and can decorate it any which way she pleases.
Unlike, in her real life, where all 3 of my girls share 1 bedroom.

Kids can choose outfits for their Zwinky Cuties character, chat with friends using the canned phrases in safe chat, and explore the different places in the Zwinky Cuties world.
Zwinky Cuties is free and, like Club Penguin, offers premium users (referred to as Jet Setters) a subscription based service up to $5.95 per month for virtual currency that can be used to collect online accessories, fashions, furniture and pets for their avatars.
