Heart disease is the No.1 killer of women in America. Did you know that? Today, I am celebrating Go Red for Women Day here at This Full House of runny noses and stinky socks.
Why?
Because, like or not, we are a community and bloggers (like me) are all about working together, like sharing ways in which we can help to educate each other about the silent killer that is heart disease!
Especially, women -- we moms aren't used to worrying about ourselves, so much, do we -- so, how can you help? Well, in the spirit of helping to bring awareness, you can visit these web pages and see:
Go Red For Women Real Women: Meet the real women at the heart of Go Red and hear their untold stories of the heart.
Go Red For Women Sponsored Programs: You can show your support of the movement through the special products and promotions offered by leading brands, like Campbell's Healthy Request Soup.
Go Red For Women National Wear Red Day: Join with millions of women, as well as companies, organizations and cities across America on National Wear Red Day, Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 or make a donation.
Go Red For Women Heart Checkup: Take the Go Red Heart CheckUp to learn your risk. It only takes a few minutes and can save your life.
Go Red For Women Hearth Healthy At Any Age: Learn about the way our health needs change over time.
These are very good places to start, I think.
Why?
My mother suffers from heart disease, my grandmother died from it and I am not about to become another statistic.
Not, if I can help it!
My name is Liz and I GO RED for me, my daughters and my son and plan to stick around long enough to be a real P.I.T.A. mother-in-law.
How about you?
Happy National Wear Red Day!
