Got acne? Unfortunately, raising 2 teens and 2 tweens (ages 16 to 9) and my STILL suffering from adult acne (UGH!) the battle against blemishes is a rite of passage, in our house.
Still, I try to be very careful with acne medicines we use -- my middle girl (she's 14) got a terrible rash, using something I ordered from an infomercial, once -- and all of my cosmetics are for sensitive skin.
So, when the nice folks representing Stridex contacted me about a new alcohol-free product with 1% salicylic acid (my skin can't handle benzoyl peroxide) I was all, like, got any extra?
I received a tub of Stridex Naturally Clear Acne Pads (70 count) from the company, to try, for myself.
UPSIDE: The new Stridex Naturally Clear is alcohol-free and lists natural ingredients, like white tea, pomegranate and soy, which is probably what give it a very pleasant fragrance.
Also, the pads are bigger than other brands we've used (thicker, too) and the triangular shape is nice to use in and around problem areas, like that crook on the side of your nose, or for those nasty little under-grounders that sometime sprout up behind my ear (ouch!) and such.
DOWNSIDE: The cost - Stridex Naturally Clear retails for about $6.49 for a container of 70 pads. However, the pads are soaked and 1 pad was enough for my face, shoulders and, well, you get it, right?
FINAL VERDICT: The heat is on, here in Jersey (literally and figuratively speaking) we've experienced all 4 seasons in 1 week (BLECH!) so, I found these pads to be very effective in cleaning the day off and it didn't dry, or irritate my skin. It smells sooooo nice, too.
FYI: Stridex offers a variety of pad products for various skin types, including:
New Stridex Naturally Clear (70 count): Offers the first 98.8 percent natural formula with a triple dose of antioxidants for healthier skin and a larger, triangular shaped pad.
Stridex Maximum Strength (55 count & 90 count): Provides the highest level of acne-fighting medicine allowed (2 percent salicylic acid) without a prescription.
Stridex Sensitive (55 count & 90 count): Targets those with sensitive skin by combining an effective level of salicylic acid (.5 percent) and skin soothers, including aloe, to minimize irritation.
Stridex Essential (55 count): Recommended for cases of mild to moderate acne. Contains 1 percent salicylic acid and vitamins A, C & E for clear, healthy skin.
