"Flying to the west coast," was all my email said, as I was booked to speak at a conference in Disneyland (yes, it WAS a business trip) and I was hoping for a little company...you know...a familiar face in a sea of happy-go-lucky-park-hopping strangers...and my dear friend and fellow mom-type-blogger, Donna (a.k.a. Socal Mom) rose to the occasion!
You see, Donna and I have worked on several blogging/writing projects together since, gosh, the beginning of time (in blogging years) but, we had NEVER met...IRL."I can't believe I'm FINALLY hugging you, for real!!!"
We had ourselves a virtual Mom Bloggers Holiday, for real (she tells the story, much more better than I ever could) and we tore that park up with laughter and squeals of...OMG, how fast does this ride go...not to mention, my kids STILL totally hate me for this...but, I had a A REAL BLAST!
Since then, it's like a lifelong bond was made and we've even slept together (relax...BlogHer roomies...sheesh!) and, well, that's how mommybloggers roll!
Something that many folks, who are involved in social media, have yet to fully understand and I'm not quite sure what part of "community," they don't get, either.
Unless, you've slept with a mommyblogger (especially, at BlogHer) then, you know!
So, thank you Donna for helping me understand the true meaning of a friendship that transends time, cyberspace AND the fact that we happen to live on opposite sides of the map (approximately 2500 miles apart, IRL) not to mention, proving, yet again, that our little community in the blogosphere is worth a lick (blogtip to Mrs. Flinger) and for bringing it ALL home...to me, anyways.
