Red, White and Blue Friday #6 - Military Blogs Will Soon Be History, For Some

Red, White and Blue Fridays was created as a way of showing my support to our soldiers by spreading the word on ways we (bloggers, like you and me) can say, "Thank you!"

Regardless of the fact that you are a democrat, republican, liberal, independent, conservative, left wing, right wing, or a giant purple people-eater - WHATEVER -  wouldn't it be nice if we could ALL just...you know...come together and NOT be afraid to flaunt our red, white and blue....yeah...I mean, that's what the blogosphere is for...YES?

This week, I'd like to talk about military blogs - did you know that there's a ban going on?

Don't hate me because I'm dellusional!

I know - keep dreamin' - but, it's my blog and...sometimes...totally haggard-looking, regular-type moms (like me) just want to have fun, too.

Still, I can't help but feel at least slightly embarrassed when I meet someone new and they innocently ask:

"So, what DO you do, again?"

Then, all of a sudden, being a mommy blogger doesn't seem all that beautiful, anymore.

Nearly Wordless Wednesday: Toothless in New Jersey!

Lord love a duck; Mini-me has lost her 1st baby tooth!

[sniff]

The toof fairy weft me ten bucks!

Me:  Wow!

 

I fink this one's loose, too!

Me:  Well, that one will be worth a dollar.

[beat]

How much for my two fwont teef!?!?

Me:  Well, the tooth fairy has always left a dollar for each tooth, after your first one falls out; just ask your sisters and brother and they'll tell you.

The Boy:  Yeah, but I know where she can get a WHOLE lot more for it!

Me:  [blank stare]

The Boy:  Just call Papa, he's good for at least $5!

Body Image: A Conversation with Me, Myself and My OTHER Half.

 

The key message for National Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2008 – “Be comfortable in your genes. Wear jeans that fit the TRUE you." 

And it starts today!

This year, my daughters and I have made a commitment to do just that - hosting the I Am Beautiful blog Tour with Woody Winfree on Valentine's Day started us off on some pretty cool dialog - and with BlogHer launching the A Letter to my Body initiative, I can't help but get fired-up about discussing body image.

You see, we should ALL love our bodies!

30 Tiny Moments - Day 2: Times when I just can't see the Doofus, for the trees.

 

 

There was a time - not so long ago, really - when I enjoyed sleep (I mean, actually slept) and it took every bit of strength - whatever I had left from the day before - just to get up in the morning.  I mean, just the thought of having to stand, erect, was enough to make me want to jump right back into bed and pull the covers over my head.

Sounds good, yes?

Yet, one of the few things that helped see me through was that, one day - once all of  my children were in school and I was home alone - perhaps, I would miss all the chaos .

Surprisingly enough, I don't!

The idea behind Marie's meme is that, every Tuesday,  moms should get the chance to "toot our own horns" (for once) and celebrate each others achievements.

Okay -- although, I'm NOT very good at accepting praise [cough-cough] here it goes -- after years of trial and error, I have discovered the secret to good housekeeping!

Beware, it's Monday and there's a killer metagator in the house!

 

Seriously, see that sign up there - I actually got it for my girls (all 3 share a room) and hung it on their bedroom door - I can't believe it's Monday, already!  The kids have been home for 4 days, already and we're about to get some new visitors, as This Full House is now a "Moms" All top site.
