[FYI: This Full House is #72 on the prize list - we're giving away a webcam valued at $100 - see here for more details!]
The Ultimate Blog Party is a fantastic way to make new blog friends AND reconnect with your posse! So, don't be shy. Please, come on in. Just step over the sick children, clean off a chair and make yourself comfortable.
But, please excuse the mess and do NOT feed the dust bunnies!
Let me start by offering you a warm, chocolate covered biscotti and a tall can of Lysol.
There, just a precaution - you'll thank me later, trust me - and for those of you visiting us for the very first time...WELCOME! Let me show you around.
This is a photo of me with my oldest daughter (Thing One is 14) taken during her birthday party in November. Which is a small miracle, really. Since, she hates having her picture taken, more than I do. Yes, she STILL likes me, sort of. I have a thing about my hair and - being a Gemini - I change my look, often. Surprisingly, it's still styled the same, it's just a little darker. By the time BlogHerCon '08 comes along; who knows? Just look for the words "This Full House" pasted firmly on my breasts. They maybe a little longer, too.
This is Thing Two (she's 12) with my Mom (the kids call her Mama, pronounced muh-muh) taken during Thing Two's birthday in December. Unlike her oldest sister, Thing Two LOVES to have her picture taken. No, I don't have one of her with me. Because, she likes her Grandmother way better. My mother and father immigrated from Hungary and are very proud of their grandchildren. Which means, they spoil them. Rotten. Hence, the they like you way better than us thing.
The Boy (he's 9) and Mini-me (she's 6) are my youngest. That's my dad (the kids call him Papa, pronounced puh-puh) and he is a trip. Seriously, we belonged to a c.b. club (before Twittering) when I was growing up and, like my kids' blog names, each of us had a "handle." My mother was "Gypsy Rose," I was "Red Velvet," my brother was "Bobcat," and my father was "The Happy Hungarian." The man can't sit in a room, for one minute, without cracking a joke. Or, passing wind. Same end result. The kids think Papa is a riot. Me, too!
This is my husband, Garth (not his real name) and you're probably wondering, "Why do you call your husband Garth (not his real name) anyways? Some people say he looks like Dennis Miller. There's a touch of Eddie Izzard in there, too - same sense of humor, really, - but, I happen to think he looks a lot like Garth Brooks! So, it sort of stuck (yummy as he is) and I'm happy that Garth (not his real name) has allowed for a pseudonym and you should feel yourself lucky, that he is, at least, showing you the back of his head, REALLY!
This is Bucky - a.k.a. The Delinquent - we rescued him from my parents backyard of the house I grew up in (before they moved to the Stepford Village) nearly 3 years ago. He's lucky to be alive. Seriously. The cat sleeps in my underwear drawer. This would be a good time to come up with a clever comment about kitties, lying around in lingerie and such.
Here is The Old Man. We're not quite sure how old he is. But, he used to be my grandmothers cat. She moved in with my parents just a couple of years before she died and handed him over to me, saying "Here, YOU take care of him!" Thing One and Thing Two were babies, I was pregnant with The Boy and already had two cats. What's one more? My life story, really.
And last, but NOT least, our pride and joy, Doofus-dog. Yes, he's mostly a chocolate lab with some border collie to make him look interesting. Otherwise, he's a sock-eating, litter-box-trolling, garbage-picking, cover-stealing, couch-hogging, drool-laden giant pinhead. But, I love him.
Now, for those of you who HAVE visited before - THANK YOU, your check is in the mail - here's a little something perhaps you didn't know. Because, I never told you.
I'm an amateur bird watcher - which means I never really know what the heck I'm staring at, I think - but, I do know that my favorite bird is called a cardinal - c...a...r...d...i...n...a...l - cardinal.
Phew!
If you are still here - THANK YOU, your check is in the mail - are you're eyes bleeding, yet?
Oh, did I mention people ARE just...like...giving things away!?!?
There are so many cool prizes to be won at this year’s Ultimate Blog Party, but my top three picks would be:
- The Bead Dangle Photo Tile Necklace with heart charm from Elemental Memories.
- The Skin Care Kit from Hip Chicks Soap Barn.
- The Basket of Books from Robin Bielman.
And if my top three picks are already chosen, I’d love any of the following (in order of preference):
70, 20,54, or anything else that a tired-old-wigged out momma, like myself, would appreciate in putting aside for a little me time!
So, enjoy the rest of the party - let me know that you've dropped by so I can crash your place, too - and remember...blog responsibly...oh, and...HEY!...you from Joisey?

Yay for November birthdays! *high five* You have a great family and I love their nicknames! I had to crack up about the back of your husband's head; my husband is not crazy about having his picture on my blog, or so he says. Whenever I post something, I always notice he looks it over with a smile so ... what a ham.
I'll take that can of Lysol!! Are you kidding me? I spray that stuff all the time. So yeah, I'm so on it. lol
I'm sorry to hear you guys are under the weather. Get well soon - there's lots of eating and partying to be done! *grin*
Thanks for popping by, Liz!

My kids call my mother MawMaw (Muh-Muh) too. It's not that common I don't think ... but I could be wrong. I'm wrong A LOT!
