WELCOME MAT IS OUT!

  • So, what's it like, 6 people living in a 7 room house...besides, 2 danged much laundry, I mean?

    Take our virtual tour!

This Full House is a full-frontal encounter into my life as a SAHM, lover of multi-functional gadgets, slayer of ALL appliances proved slow and/or inefficient, with 4 children, 2 cats, 1 super hyper sock-eating chocolate lab...oh, and 2 danged much laundry.

In other words, I make OTHER mothers look good!

Here's the thing, blogging has introduced me and my family to some pretty wonderful opportunities -- not to mention, allowing me the space to express myself and witness many random acts of kindness -- This Full House is where I share my parenting stories (sort of like "What NOT To Wear," except I'd be the dork in need of a makeover) and articles that I feel would be of interest to other parents, like me.

Short version:  I make other parents look good.

You can check out our FAQ's (frequently asked questions) because, inquiring minds want to know.

Or, visit with me at This Full House Reviews where I like to write about the stuff we like, or haven't managed to break...yet...and perhaps makes life a little easier for other families, like ours.

Readers will be treated no different than that of family and friends visiting with me, here at home -- with respect, warmth and kindness -- of course, clothing is optional and ALL opinions are welcome on the Internets!

Clean off a chair and stay a while - there's always room for one more - let's catch up, okay?

Feel free to grab a beverage and then I'll start with what I've been doing, lately:

Interviewed and quoted on ABC News in article, "Mom-nesia:  When Mothers Forget Babies"

[Excerpt:  Forgetting Your Kids]

Liz Thompson, a mom of four, told ABCNEWS.com that she "can't remember a darn thing anymore." "When I take the kids to the doctor and they ask how old they are or when their birthdays are, I have to ask the kids," said Thompson, who writes for the New Jersey Moms' Blog. "The more children you have the less brain cells you're left with at the end of the day."

April 2008

Invited to attend Johnson & Johnson's Camp Baby (along with 50 other mom bloggers) for a 3-day event held in New Brunswick, NJ.

Interviewed and quoted in newspaper article, "Mommy Blogs Are Gaining Visibility" on NorthJersey.com.

[Excerpt]

Liz Thompson, a five-year veteran of the New Jersey mom-blogging scene, will be among the contributors. The Monmouth County mother of four has a blog, thisfullhouse.com, to share her thoughts and observations on parenting, product reviews, and teaching kids how to blog.

Her 100-plus visitors a day can compete for product giveaways – this month, a video camera. And as professional as her blog has become, the income she makes from sponsorship and other traditional advertisements is hardly enough to pay for groceries and gas, Thompson said.

"If I'm able to get a little bit out of it, that's great," Thompson said. "That's not why I do it, though. I just love to write, and I love that a blog gives you the chance to have a different discussion with different people every day."
