Counting by one and tens with The Count, sharing a snack with the Cookie Monster and singing the, "Rubber Ducky Song" with MY best friends Bert and Ernie, these are the memories that resonate in the hearts (and minds) of children of all ages and it really doesn't matter how old you are, or where you grew up - everyone knows the way to Sesame Street.
This month, K'NEX (one of our house's favorite brands) is introducing a new line of Sesame Street building sets for kids ages 2-5 yrs. and, though my youngest is 7, I really do believe that a person is never too old to have fun and hope that my children NEVER outgrow their imaginations.
Partner two family-favorite brands (like, K'NEX and Sesame Workshop) and what do you get?

Hey, it's Friday [sound of trumpets] time to close out the work week with some very hot links, brought to you by a couple of equally amazing women, who happen to be totally HAWT, too!
My friends from Kamp Kegel (generously hosted by Johnson & Johnson for the makers of babies, everywhere) are holding reunions in the form of a weekly post roundup.
Here's what my fellow hair-braiding badge awardees were up to this week - oh AND there are some pretty cool contest and giveaways, too:

[This giveaway has ended and we have OUR WINNER - Congratulations, Pamela Vest!]
In 1995, LeapFrog was founded after a dad discovered that the toy market offered nothing to help his 3-year-old learn phonics. It's the year that LeapFrog introduced its first product (the Phonics Desk) and the company has consistently been coming up with cool interactive toys to help parents (like me) teach kids basic skills, ever since.
Including, mine.
That's why I was very excited to be given the chance to review the new Didj - LeapFrog's newest entry into the highly competitive hand held gaming system market - oh, and my kids thought that...you know...it was pretty cool, too!

In the real world, my girls have always loved to play with dolls, dress them up and pretend to live in a place where fashion, games and shopping ruled the world.
Who wouldn't?
Virtual worlds are all the rage and our house is no exception. On September 16th, the girls and I were invited to a launch party for ZwinkyCuties.com - a new preteen online virtual world site for girls 6 to 12 - unfortunately, we weren't able to make it into NYC, that day.
Did I mention, Jordan Pruitt was there!?!?
A few of my friends DID venture into "the city," however, and you can read Lynette's (a.k.a. Lynette Radio) most excellent recap here, as well as view the awesome pictures that my friend Kate (a.k.a. Katespot.com) took at the party!
So, what is a Zwinky?

Having recently appeared on Martha Stewart - The Blogging Show -- yep, dragged my laptop all the way from Jersey and had to fake-blog the whole thing, stupid Dell -- and being given the opportunity to watch "a real" domestic diva in action...um...well, let's just say that woman could make a tin can look good.
That's why I am thrilled to FINALLY be able to share a diy-ish, scrap-booking tip with you...yes, YOU!...so, grab your favorite bookmarking tool and click this down.
Ready?

Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a luncheon, sponsored by Stop & Shop/Giant, at Sarabeth's Restaurant in New York City, where I got to meet the owner...yep, Sara Beth...herself and even sat next to her, during lunch, so I tried NOT to slump, or slurp my soup, too much!
Why?
Well, I was also sitting next to a really Cool Mom - oh crud, as if I needed any MORE help looking, you know, all schlumpy - and plenty of other real moms, too!
[waves at Mommies With Style]
So, yeah, a bunch of bloggers were invited and NOT just for the food, either!

One of the things I love about blogging - besides, being able to do it in my pajamas - is I've become a part of a very large and diverse community of people, who are just as interested in keeping up-to-date with the latest parenting trends and family-related resources that may just help make my life a little easier.
Then, I write about it.
Last year, I had the pleasure of reviewing a new social networking site for new and expectant parents and I'm equally pleased to tell you that The Cradle has partnered with Pregnancy
magazine to search for America’s favorite independent baby boutique.
So, what's in it for you?

[WE HAVE A WINNER - Congratulations, Robyn!!!]
I think it was Albert Einstein, who said:
"Common sense is the collection of prejudices acquired by age eighteen."
Clearly, he was a brilliant man -- says, the woman who can't even type the word physicists without heavily relying on her spell checker -- I can't help but wonder, if his children ever remembered to put the cap back on the tooth paste tube, or perhaps they also were prone to leaving the toilet paper roll...empty...AGAIN!
Still.
Besides, learning that Albert Einstein was, in fact, also a dad -- thank you, Google -- I've recently found out that there's a whole community of people who are dying to know what the deal is with, you know, flushable (or, is it flushible) wipes?
Like, me!

This fall, Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Cabbage Patch Kids will be hitting store shelves for a limited time only.
1983, I remember it well - Vanessa Williams became the first African-American to be crowned Miss America in Atlantic City, NJ, the musical "Annie" performed for the last time on Broadway in NYC and it also happened to be when McDonalds introduced the Chicken McNugget!
Aaaand Cabbage Kids were everywhere!
It was when I adopted my first Cabbage Patch Kids. They were a set of bald twins (boy and girl) just like my brother and me (only, we had more hair at the time) and my mother still remembers standing on line, in the freezing cold, along with the rest of Middlesex County, NJ, I'm sure.
Okay, so I happened to be 18 at the time, so what!?!?
