It's no secret -- I am raising a family of gamers, big time -- we love our Wii and, if you don't already have one, I highly recommend it. In fact, I know a few bloggers who are just itching to give one away:

Okay, now what?
Well, finding a game for your Wii shouldn't be very difficult -- visit Wii at Nintendo and see what's new -- almost too many to choose from, I know. So, I joined in on the Parent Bloggers Network campaign for Electronic Arts and, I have to tell you, our family has a couple karaoke-type games, already and I was a little, you know, skeptical.
Boogie SuperStar, Woogie WiggleWorld (not real brand, I just made that up) what's the diff?
In the real world, my girls have always loved to play with dolls, dress them up and pretend to live in a place where fashion, games and shopping ruled the world.
Who wouldn't?
Boogie SuperStar is no exception:
- Create your own look - you can customize your SuperStar to look, well, just like you would, in your pretend rockstar world. Casual to over-the-top glam, which is very popular with the 8 to 10-year-old set, I hear.
- Create your own sound - there are over 40 popular songs, like my almost 13-year-old's favorite, Hot N Cold by Katy Perry.
But, here's the thing, players can sing AND dance along with Boogie SuperStar, which is very, very cool, according to my almost 13-year-old, the expert rock star in the house:
"It's like getting two games in one!"
Other key features that she (and my 15-year-old) wanted to point out are:
- Boogie SuperStar has a nice play list of songs for the "older kids" which just misses the mark of receiving an "awesome," if they were actually sung by the original artists. On the other hand, I couldn't tell the difference and, when singing along with "Hot N Cold," replacing the word "bitch" with "witch" didn't seem to change the beat any. Thankyouverymuch.
- This game actually helps teach you to sing and dance -- albeit, to the best of a player's ability -- by providing training sessions and rewards you whenever you actually, you know, hit the right note. Also, players can follow along with a "Star Trainer," or create their own dance routines that are judged in American Idol style.
Final Verdict: Boogie SuperStar is a fun video game that actively challenges players to tap into their inner-rock star -- especially, for those of us who still remember what it felt like to sing along to the radio, in front of the mirror and using our curling irons as microphones -- but, don't take my word for it.
I asked our resident rock star if there's anything she'd like to add, or done differently with this review.
"Not really."
Trust me, for an almost 13-year-old, that's really saying something.
