When my oldest daughter was born, I remember one of the first things I did was count her tiny fingers and chubby little toes and then feeling a huge sense of relief.
I pretty much started to worry about EVERYTHING else...since then...but, one of the major issues my husband and I dealt with, very early on, was eliminating choking hazards and making our home as safe and child-friendly, as possible.
What if I told you that it may NOT have been enough and the very thing that was supposed to ensure her safety (along with her 3 siblings) nearly killed another child?
Last summer, I blogged about SafetyCaps. They were invented by a George DeCell, after his precious daughter Sage got a standard-sized outlet plug lodged in her throat and nearly suffocated.
Now, I want to try and help George....again.
Why?
Word-of-mouth marketing IS the best part of blogging and participating in an online community - like, parenting blogs - plays a vital role in what average, everyday people (like me) are talking about, or buying into, today.
George came up with a new grassroots effort for bloggers (like me) to help get the word out about SafetyCaps:
That's why George has asked me to join him and I am honored to be representing New Jersey in his campaign to get Ellen Degeneres and Oprah talking about SafetyCaps in asking my two most favorites women in media, that they consider helping my blogfriend, George, too.
Because, that's how we roll...here in Jersey, anyways :)
