Campbell's Soup Mom Bloggers Event 1/29/09 [photo credit]
I was very excited to have been invited as one of the Campbell's Mom Bloggers to visit the Campbell Soup Company's headquarters in Camden, NJ (I posted the blogging guest list, earlier this week) and I'm happy to report that we all got the 4-star treatment to an AWESOME tour of Campbell's Kitchen!
The Campbell Soup Company has been manufacturing soup for 140 years (among many other products that is in my pantry, right now, as I found out) and this was the first time that the they opened their doors to this sort of an event.
I'll be burping up loads of information, for you, all week:
- A tour of Campbell's Welcome Center
- Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe prepared by Chef Tom
- V-8 Fusion Smoothie Recipe prepared by Campbell's Kitchen Expert Cathy
- An Insider's Look at what's new at Campbell Soup Company
- Campbell's answers to This Full House reader questions
Today, it's all about the eventual arrival into Philadelphia, PA (Mother Nature is a bitch!) and how we almost didn't make it into Campbell's Soup Company.
Last week, the weather was miserable here on the East Coast and I was very happy (okay, freakin' ecstatic!) that my friends at Weber Shandwick arranged for my car service into Philadelphia (I live about 2 hours away, in Jersey) so, I had a few hours, to myself, to decompress and...well...okay, I have a thing about hotel rooms:
Much, much, later, I texted my friend Dawn.
Aaaand, I was relieved to hear that she'd made it...uh...in one piece. Then, I bumped into Busy Mom (literally, nearly knocked the woman over coming outta the elevator) on the way to Dawn's room and invited Elizabeth along for a good-old-fashioned pajama party in Dawn's hotel room.
Okay, so I was the only one wearing pajamas.
The next morning, we prepared for our journey across the river to meet with the Campbell's Soup Company team.
We arrived in time, just in time, but they wouldn't let us off the bus.
They said it was because of an emergency evacuation, or something.
Me? I think someone must have "reminded" Campbell's Soup Company that a bunch of mom bloggers were coming for lunch :)
Tune in tomorrow, for a look inside and see what they had cooking for the mom bloggers in Campbell's Kitchen.
