Ever since I was little, I loved to play around my mother's desk and pretend that I was, you know, the boss of everybody. Today, my kids are no different except they don't ever listen to me.
The little buggers insist on using all of my note pads and papers, leaving me nothing but lined-loose-leaf paper (not very professional, I think) and I just can't keep enough pens (or, pencils) in the house.
Recently, the good folks at Carolina Pad and Paper were very generous to send us a HUGE box filled with products from their Fashion School and Office Supply collection.
Why?
Because, they asked and I said...YAH!...quite frankly, the girls and I fought tooth and nail over all the awesome stuff inside!
My 10 year-old son, not so much.

About Carolina Pad and Paper: Carolina Pad is a family-started company founded in 1945 and introduced fashion school and office products in 2000.
Their office products and school supplies are fashionable, stylish AND extra sturdy -- my favorite has to be their organizational folders with 8 full-sized double pockets and accordion folders with 13 pockets, that won't tear out easily (even after much handling, oh and dropping) and there's plenty of space to organize papers for every class, in one laminated-style spiral notebook -- yep, Carolina Pad is a total hit in our house!
My oldest is 15-years old and HATES to have her picture taken (I know, act surprised anyway) she's coming out, sort of, to show you that she also feels the accordion file is "SUH-SWEET!"
Carolina Pad is also committed to giving back:
- The Commerce with a Conscience program supports local and national programs that promote children, families and the environment.
- In the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region, we support Classroom Central, a free store for teachers who work in low-income schools.
- The Kendall Kollection, is the result of a partnership with Signature Designer Jacqueline Savage McFee and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). A portion of the proceeds from this collection goes to leukemia research and support.
- In 2009, Carolina Pad introduced a new sustainable product line under the Sasquatch brand.
In addition to school and office supplies, Carolina Pad offers a wide array of arts and crafts products under the Ghostline and U:Create brands. Look for more on Carolina Pad in the current issue of Inc. Magazine and in the soon to be released book – “The Catalyst: How You Can Become an Extraordinary Growth Leader.”
This is mine, you can't have it!!!
FINAL VERDICT: Carolina Paper and Pad is known for creating extraordinary designs on everyday products, but I was surprised (okay, SHOCKED) to find that their fashion school and office products are available at really amazing (read: affordable) prices. For example, their personal notebook is $1.99 and the 13-pocket accordion folder is $6.99. You can find them easily at Wal-mart, Target and K-mart, as well as drug stores, grocery stores and office supply stores.
"Tell 'em to make something for boys!"
Yes, I'm heading back to CarolinaPad.com to see if there's something a little more, you know, suitable for a 10-year-old boy...in a nice shade of camouflage, perhaps?
Pretty designs (+) a smart price = SOLD!
Hope loves writing "stories" in her new notebook and LOOK, they match!!!
