This summer, I am very proud to have been able to partner with the good folks over at GoodNites in introducing parents (like me) to the "Special Bedtime Moments" contest, encouraging us to share our special bedtime moments and learn how other parents (like us) spend bedtime with their children.
So, first, I shared my family's Special Bedtime Moment and our recipe for Monster Spray!
Then, not only did we get a chance to read and perhaps learn a few new bedtime tips (heaven knows we ALL could do with some more sleep) we were given the chance to share 3 (three) GoodNites Bedtime Kits (worth $250 each) that I was just itching to give away...every month...all summer long!
I gave one (1) kit to Stephanie (comment #10) and then Nancy (comment #54) received one (1) but, now it's time to close out this awesome promotion, announce our FINAL WINNER and share ALL of their wonderful Special Bedtime Moments, one last time:
Aaaaand our FINAL WINNER (via random.org) is Donna Holmberg (comment #27) and I'm very pleased to share with you her very special bedtime moment:
Part of my bedtime ritual with my little one was a solution I came up with to help her fall asleep at night. She used to struggle to get to sleep and would constantly get up and roam around her room after we tucked her in, so I started the tradition of playing instrumental classical music for her at night. It works like a charm and she has learned to love classical in the process.
Congratulations, Donna -- gosh, but I love sharing stuff -- check your email for further instructions!
You'll be receiving some really awesome stuff, like: $100 gift certificate to PajamaGram.com, $50 gift certificate to Borders, blanket, bedtime journal for recording special bedtime moments and an overnight tote bag to put them in, courtesy of the very generous folks over at GoodNites.com!
Here's a recap of Stephanie's and Nancy's stories, respectively:
With a Song in Your Heart
After that sip of water, reading a book, and the goodnight kiss, turn on some very soft music to quietly play in your child's room. Should they wake in the night and not need you, the familiar music will reassure them and lull them back to sleep. This idea helped with both our children. We hope it will make a better bedtime with your children too!

"Don't go to bed mad" is something we've all heard before. Like all parents and kids, sometimes my son and I get frustrated with each other. But when I put him to bed, I leave any frustrations at the door. We read our story and talk about our plans for the coming day. I kiss him good night, we exchange "I love you's" and my son goes to sleep knowing that however frustrated we might get with one another, I love him no matter what.

So, what ELSE was in it for me?
Every entry gave me a shot at winning $1,000 worth of books to donate to my local library and, well, that's just pretty cool, too, right?
Although, I really DO wish these guys the best of luck, too (seriously, serious competition, I know) I also happen to believe that anytime bloggers (like me) get a chance to share some awesome stuff with our community of readers -- like a sweet donation to our favorite charity -- well, it's ALL pretty much a win-win situation, right?
Aaaand, it's how we roll, really.
My sincerest thanks to the good folks at GoodNites and, most especially, to all our beloved readers who've taken the time to stop by and share their Special Bedtime Moment with us, too!
Sleep tight, my friends.
