Did you know that there was a National Coffee Day (September 29th) and, well, you and I just missed it by...um...a couple of weeks.
However, if you're a coffee lover (like me) it's never too late to celebrate those mornings when, you know, you're just happy to be able to get out of bad.
The good folks at Nescafe Tasters Choice know this -- yes, they read my blog -- and sent me a special "coffee lover's care package" filled with their newish instant coffee single serve packs to try and, yes, I realize that not everyone thinks of "instant coffee" as "real coffee."
I am NOT one of those people.
Unless, I'm with friends, or my favorite brother-in-law sends me a Starbucks gift card for Christmas [hint, hint] again.
Besides, my husband makes a wicked good pot of coffee (yes, I'm keeping him) and we keep instant coffee in the house, just in case.
Even my gentle and understanding mother will agree, I CANNOT MAKE A GOOD POT OF COFFEE, EVEN IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT, DANGIT!
So, I heated a pot of water and ripped open a single serving pack of Taster's Choice Vanilla (not easy, when you're in a rush, had to use scissors) filled the lovely little travel mug (above) and rushed out of the house for, well, soccer, I think, I forget.
FINAL VERDICT: Although, it didn't taste like my husband's coffee -- I add a drop of vanilla to my mug -- I really enjoyed the taste and, in my opinion, the single serving packs are pretty good in a pinch.
