Frigidaire introduced more than 250 new appliances in 2009, all designed with the idea of creating more time for Moms.
Personally, after nearly 20 years of careful consideration, IMO, all I really need is, you know, a wife.
Still, Mom Central created the Frigidaire Test Drive Program around the same time and a lot of my online mom friends were involved, except me.
[heavy sigh]
Perhaps, they'd heard (or, read) that I break things (a lot) and, well, I don't blame them -- Sears and I are NOT on speaking terms, at the moment.
Seriously, I have voltage issues which, over the years, has increased my chances of having some serious bad luck with electric. Hell, I managed to set my bra on fire AND kill TWO dishwashers (yes, it's STILL playing dead) and, well, the kids and I have been doing A LOT of dishes by hand -- we're down by 10 broken drinking glasses and almost ALL of our dinner dishes are chipped!
So, I applied for Team Dishwasher 2010 and, Holy Hannah Montana, nobody was as surprised as I was to learn that, YES, I got in!
Then, I received another email and I'm thinking...uh-oh...they changed their minds and no, I wouldn't blame them, one tiny bit:
"We are finalizing our selections for the Frigidaire Super Influencer Team and would like to extend an invitation for you to be part of this team!"
"Holy...[insert expletive(s) of choice, here!]...we're getting a refrigerator, range, microwave, dishwasher, washer AND dryer???"
Needless to say, my husband Garth [not his real name] is STILL in shock (me, too) and, well, I have NEVER had kitchen stuff that matched (EVER) or, ever tried to break anything from Frigidaire, for that matter.
"Nobody works stuff harder than you, Dearie!"
How-evuh, I have managed to beat the hell out of every major brand of appliance....at least, once....so, this should be an interesting ride, right?
"Are we going to have room for this stuff?"
I told Garth [not his real name] not to worry, too much.
"I'll MAKE IT FIT!!!"
In fact, I just got the call [waves to Mark from Czarnowski] while writing this, that the stuff is coming on Friday (CRAP!) except, the washer and dryer, which will be delivered around May (YAY!) so, I gotta go and move some more stuff around!
What's in it for you, besides watching me, trying really hard, to break Frigidaire's stuff, I mean?
Well, starting, today (January 18th) you can log on to www.maketimeforchange.com
Plus every day you take a spin, Frigidaire donates $1 to Save the Children as part of their $250,000 commitment to this worthy cause.
In the meantime, if you need me, I'll be in the den/laundry/media/mom's hideout/playroom doing laundry.
Stupid stomach flu!
[hands out respirators to delivery dudes]
Mind your feet!
