Quirky Fusion
For the next 4 weeks, I'll be writing about my experiences (in very layman terms, of course) and sharing some great stuff (yep, I've got one to giveaway, at the end of the program, too) while I try really hard NOT to break their pretty new phone, too.
Week 1: When I simply tried to learn how to turn the darn thing on.
Today, I'm going to attempt to set up my Facebook, Twitter and Email accounts -- without losing my patience OR breaking anything -- wanna see?
Sorry, I'm supposed to be able to grab a screenshot from the Palm Pre Plus (gray button + sym + p) but, can't quite get the hang of it...yet...so, I used my point & shoot camera and all I got was this lousy picture.
Facebook App: Is FREE and it took all of 3 seconds to download from the App Catalog. In my opinion, the Palm Pre Plus screen is, by far, the easiest to view. I can easily read and comment (or, like) from my friends' updates.
Twitter: I was able to access my stream directly from the web, once connecting to my wireless network here at home (again, easy) and still loving being able to read and respond to Tweets, easily!
Setting Up Email: also, very easy -- especially, for a technically-challenged person, like me -- by simply added my incoming and outgoing mail server info (the Palm Pre Plus has a manaul set up and walks you through this) and LOOK (really, really hard and you'll see) only 1 (one) new email (heh, just cleaned it out) but, wait, here's the BEST part!
Using Facebook, Twitter AND Email, ALL at once: is easy, because with Palm Pre Plus, I can keep my Twitter and Facebook streams open...while waiting for that very important email (you know, from HGTV, telling me that I've one this year's Dream Home!) ALL at the same time!
Sticky Notes, Anyone?: I admit it, I got this thing for sticky notes and the Palm Pre Plus has a very nice memo app, featuring, you guessed it, sticky notes...in 4 different colors (shuddup, JayMonster, some of us gadget lovers are easily amused) but, wait, there's more!
I can also minimize the apps for smoother scrolling -- now, that is just all sorts of awesome...I think.
FINAL VERDICT - WEEK 2: Using the Palm Pre Plus to help keep track of your social network and online friends is super easy -- what, no clicking through dozens of screens? Being able to scroll through apps and emails and then, with a quick flick of the finger, just swipe them away when I'm done is, I think, very cool.
DOWNSIDE: Yes, I am STILL having trouble with "gestures" and accidentally opening screens, or apps, that I didn't want, in the first place, well, it IS very frustrating.
UPSIDE: Still loving "start the dishwasher" and "finish the laundry" features!HAH! Just kidding -- there is NO "start the dishwasher" or "finish the laundry" feature...DAMMIT...not that I am aware of, anyway. Just making sure you're still with me ;)
