My kids fight the UPS dude, for his attention, whenever we receive a box from our friends at Golin Harris.
"Me, me, me...give it to ME!"
No, not really.
[knock-knock-knock]
Thank goodness, my UPS dude delivers long before ALL my kids get home from school; otherwise, I'd NEVER get to play with anything!
"Thank, dude!"
This time, however, I'm pretty sure even my middle-schooler heard me, from all the way across town.
"SQUEEEEEE!"
Then, my oldest got home (she's 16) and, well, I was already late for work (l make it a general rule NOT to make the women who workout, at my club, angry) so, she was kind enough to put off starting her homework, and test out the new DSi XL, until I got home.
Wait until you see what IT can do!!!
FROM THE COMPANY - Features include:
- Two screens
- 93% larger than Nintendo DS Lite
- 3 pre-installed titles + built-in software
- A large stylus tailor-made for easy use
- Enjoy all of the features of the original Nintendo DSi system in a plus-sized package.
OUR TAKE:
The DSi XL is big -- as you can see, compared to our DS Lite (pictured above) which, for me, is a plus in the, "What does that say?" category of, "I can't see a gosh-darned thing without my glasses," side of hand-held game play.
For smallish hands, the controls may be a little awkward, at first; however, my 8 year-old seems to have adjusted handling the DSI XL just fine.
Here's the really, really fun part -- the DSi XL comes preloaded with Flipnote Studio, which, Holy Hannah Montana, is beyond fun and, well, let me show you what my two oldest daughters did:
As you can see, Footnote Studio allows you to add sound to personalize your footnote and, well, the possibilities are endless, really.
See, I made that...all...by...myself...and in a matter of seconds...cool, right? RIGHT?
[sound of crickets chirping]
Aaaand, look, it matches our sofa!
"Wait...I'm almost done, Mom!"
The DSi XL is scheduled to be released on March 28th and currently retails for $189.99, which ships free (super saver shipping) on Amazon.com (affiliated link) be sure to check out the details, first.
Next week, I will be reviewing America's Test Kitchen: Let's Get Cooking and WarioWare: D.I.Y., using the DSi XL...that is...if, I can rip it outta my kids' hands, first.
"Gosh, it's like pulling teeth!"
Now, I'm off to take my 14-year-old to have her teeth pulled. 4 of them, to be exact (yes, really) so, Heather's got dibs, because nice matters and raising kids with crooked teeth sucks wet noodle!
"That's NOT funny, Mom!"
[shrugs]
Have a great weekend, everyone!
