I am very excited (okay, so, this is where my kids would interrupt and suggest, "SHOCKED," as a more accurate description of my reaction) to have partnered with Mom Central as one of their Fridgidaire Test Drive Moms - Team Everything!
Why?
Well, as I mentioned in my inaugural post, 'cawse nobody breaks stuff, like I do!
Here's a quick recap (you're welcome!)
- We survived THE BIG INSTALL
- My attempts at burning down the house
- Not to mention, nearly snapping the wheels off the dishwasher
- Using the over-the-range-microwave as a, well, on-the-counter-for-now-microwave
- Playing a game of Fridge or Dare
- Then, about six weeks in at this point, really began working out the kinks
We're in the final countdown of the program:
- Dishwasher still working? [check]
- Gotten over my fear of the convection oven? [check]
Aaaand, if you're still reading along, with me, well, you might as well consider yourself family, at this point, which means you are also very surprised I haven't broken anything yet, and here's why...
4 kids, 4 different schools and 2 part-time jobs makes for a lot of rushing around in our house (I know, right, you too?) trust me, our family can be REAL hard on stuff.
By family, of course you know, I mean...me.
I broke the handle and the seal on our other refrigerator door the first year we had it.
So far, almost 4 months into the test program (where does the time go?) our Frigidaire refrigerator has been keeping up with all the shelf juggling, door slamming and knees to the drawers, quite well.
The "chill drawer," however, is still freezing our cold cuts. Not sure why...just yet.
My favorite features?
PureAir Ultra Filters: I have to admit, I was skeptical. However, this feature seems to live up to its eliminating odors claim. I didn't even see (or, smell) that bag of broccoli, pushed waaaay in the back of the fridge (by accident) not until it was, well, waaaay passed being edible.
Automatic Alerts: Refrigerator alerts you if the door is left open or if temperature rises.
Thanks to the Energy Saver Plus Technology, if my refrigerator door is not opened for 24 hours and the refrigerator system is set to the 12-hour defrost cycle, then the system automatically goes to a 96-hour compressor run time defrost cycle to conserve electricity.
English version: No need to run the fridge so hard, if no one is opening the door and letting cool air out. Nice. We're going away to Cape May for the weekend in a couple of weeks and it's nice to know that the fridge will be able to relax a little, too.
Until, we get home, Sunday night, later than expected (probably) and realize that, uh-oh, there's no lunch meat home (or, it's frozen) because, we forgot to go food shopping (most definitely) and, well, I hate, HAte, HATe, HATE food shopping!
