I am very excited (okay, so, this is where my kids would interrupt and suggest, "SHOCKED," as a more accurate description of my reaction) to have partnered with Mom Central as one of their Fridgidaire Test Drive Moms - Team Everything!
Why?
Well, as I mentioned in my inaugural post, 'cawse nobody breaks stuff, like I do!
Here's a quick recap (you're welcome!)
- We survived THE BIG INSTALL
- My attempts at burning down the house
- Not to mention, nearly snapping the wheels off the dishwasher
- Using the over-the-range-microwave as a, well, on-the-counter-for-now-microwave
- Playing a game of Fridge or Dare
- Then, about six weeks in at this point, really began working out the kinks
We're in the final countdown of the program:
- Dishwasher still working? [check]
- Gotten over my fear of the convection oven? [check]
- Refrigerator STILL running? [check]
Aaaand, if you're still reading along, with me, well, you might as well consider yourself family, at this point, which means you are also very surprised I haven't broken anything yet, and here's why...
3 months have passed since I waved goodbye to the nice delivery dudes, who worked real hard to help make my kitchen look, you know, functional.
The trees are all leafed out now and our Christmas decorations are semi-neatly stacked in the garage (don't go in there, it's scary) still, I'm having a real hard time accepting the fact that I have NOT broken anything -- my new Frigidaire stuff, I mean.
My little red point and shoot camera, however, has since bit the proverbial dust kitty [moment of silence] and, well, thank goodness I have lots and lots of pictures saved, for just such an occasion -- you're welcome!
The over-the-range microwave is a dream. Period. It's big, roomy and, although the various codes are a little intimidating, at first (7 columns worth) The Sensor Cooking and Sensor Re-heating function on this
unit, in my opinion, is invaluable (in a house, like mine) and just
helps make it real easy to figure out how long to cook and/or reheat
food, by not having to figure it out, at all.
My 16 year-old cooked a whole pork dinner, using our favorite deep covered dish from Pampered Chef, with satisfactory results (i.e. her sisters and brothers ate it AND loved it) and our re-heated food comes out hot, every blessed time!
The microwave is STILL sitting on our counter, through no fault of Frigidaire. We just haven't had the chance to swap out the cabinet above the range. Hopefully, by the end of the month, we will and, as soon as we do, I'll post a pic...somehow...since, you know, I broke my camera.
I hate it when life happens; don't you?
In the meantime, if anyone needs me, I'll be upstairs...asleep...wake me up when Ty Pennington calls!
