As a Frigidaire Test Drive Mom (yeah, I don't know how that happened...either) my family and I have tried, really, really hard to break test the awesomeness that is our new dishwasher, microwave, gas range and refrigerator!
Then, the washer and dryer came and, well, things turned a little, you know, ugly (not Frigidaire's fault, btw) but, it HAS been 2 weeks (okay, maybe even 3 weeks, June is a blur, I forget!)Today, it's ALL coming out in the wash...er...I never thought I'd say it, out loud, but....
I absolutely LOVE doing laundry with my new Frigidaire Affinity washer and dryer!!!
To be clear, I did NOT say I love laundry! Although, you might well be one of those people, like my friend Chris, who actually enjoys it and that's okay, too [cough] you freak [cough] really.
I am NOT one of those people.
However, I have NEVER put my machines on a pedestal...until now...and, well, judging by the last few weeks, maybe I shoulda!
[Disclosure: This IS my laundry room -- a closet in the playroom/daddy's hideaway, that's it -- oh, an you might also want to stack laundry baskets at your own risk!]
Moving on.
FAVORITE FEATURES - Pedestal: This is the 4th set of washer
and dryer we've owned (I think) in the 17 years in our house, but the
1st time they've included a pedestal = NO AWKWARD BENDING and EXTRA
STORAGE SPACE!!!
It's nice to be able to load BOTH machines at eye level, with 2 extra drawers to store detergent, dryer sheets, etc... in and my back is much happier for it.
Lighted (Lit?) Washer Drum: I often times find myself stopping a load and digging through, looking for my husband's work shirt, a soccer jersey, whatever, and it's nice to NOT have to go blind, doing so.
LAST MINUTE LAUNDRY TIP: We buy very large sized boxes of detergent that do not seem to fit in the pedestal drawer (without ripping the top of the box, or scraping my knuckles) so, I use one of those plastic cereal dispensers and it works just fine!
DOWNSIDE: The washer and dryer pedestal is optional and an added expense (the Affinity pedestal retails for about $269.00) however, seeing as I am tall, and live in small-ish house, it WILL be used often and well worth it!
I'll go more into the key features listed by the manufacturer, like, how they hold up to laundry, generated by a larger than average-sized family (like ours) on my next post.
In the meantime, if anyone needs me, I'll be upstairs...giving my back muscles a much needed rest...wake me up when Ty Pennington calls!
