Yesterday, the kids and I (along with Bay, Julie, Monica, Shannon and their kids) celebrated Do Good Day at the Garden State Discovery Museum and nothing could have dampened our spirits.
Nothing could keep Team New Jersey from completing our mission; not even the deluge of rain water, that rose from the parking lot, made its way into the entrance of the museum and, well, did I mention forgetting the juice boxes in the car!?!?
The folks at the Discovery Museum were AWESOME! They made us feel REAL comfortable and even invited the Yummobile inside and out of the rain -- see, do goodery IS contagious!!!
I can't even begin to tell you what a GREAT time we had meeting ALL of the families, or how gratifying it was to see their little ones take the time to help us say, "Thank you!"
Or, what an AWESOME feeling it was to watch my oldest daughter (she's 16) and my youngest daughter (she's 9) as they use their face-painting and crafting super powers for good!
While, my 11 year-old son manned the entrance to this really cool castle and kept a watchful eye on the little ones.
Seeing all the happy faces and hearing the surprise in their voices, when offered the chance to do good...once, they got home...and reliving it all over again, right now...well, I just can't help but feel goose-bumpy...all over again.
Here's another Do Good Day moment, shared by a mother and her gorgeous little daughter, that is totally goose-bump-worthy, right?
I want to take this moment to thank 77kids and TheMotherhood.com (Emily and Cooper, you RAWK!) for making it all happen, my friends Bay, Julie, Monica and Shannon for making it FUN (seriously, what a great team we make) AND my 14 year-old for documenting it ALL!!!
We collected 55 notes of gratitude and are very proud to be sending them ALL to Operation Gratitude, thanks to Do Good Day.
Yes, yesterday was a good day...indeed!!!
