I am very, very proud to partner with TheMotherhood.com and participating in 77kids Do Good Day on July 14th (that's next week, btw!) by doing good in our local communities in all sorts of pay-it-forward kinds of ways.
Me and 76 other bloggers, from 11 cities across the U.S., I mean.
Why?
Well, here in Jersey, I'm in REAL good company:

Okay, GREAT, but why 77kids and what's all this Do Good stuff about, really?
This summer, 77kids by american eagle wanted to celebrate not only the five communities in which they will be opening new 77kids stores (Cherry Hill, NJ has one of those stores!) but, also create a way to spread goodness in other communities as well - and from there 77kids Do Good Day was born!
I love working with Cooper and Emily (a.k.a. they put the hood in mother) so, when they asked if I'd be interested in doing something good...for my community...told me I'd be allowed to bring my kids along...and be compensated for my time...well, honestly, those are just a few of the MANY reasons why I love working with Cooper and Emily...SO MUCH!
So, I agreed AND they gave me money (pictured above) to do good things with. In fact, there will be 11 teams doing good things (all day) and we each received a box of goodies from 77kids to share and, you know, do good things with!
What sort of good things?
Our team's focus will be on military families (my twin brother is stationed in Ft. Dix, NJ) so, we're planning to set up a "gratitude station," and we've been generously invited into the Children's Discovery Museum to set up and present families (like ours) an opportunity to take a few moments, fill out a post card, or draw a picture (for the little ones) and thank a soldier and/or veteran, via http://www.opgratitude.com/ and taking inspiration from the Operation Gratitude Card Collection.
Oh, and there will be a "fun table" with face painting, coloring pages, goody bags for kids and remember those 77 dollar bills up there? We'll be handing those out, along with a list of 7 good things that you can do with a dollar, too!
Okay, between you, me and that person, way over there in the back...why go through all the trouble..really?
Because, nice matters AND using our blogging powers for good is how the mom-blog community rolls...yes, REALLY!Feeling inspired to do good on the 14th, your own self?
AWESOME! You are more than welcome to join the conversation at a special circle set up at the TheMotherhood.com: http://www.themotherhood.com/circle/show/id/62021
You'll find a list of the cities that are doing good things on that day (seriously, all of the 77kids blogging teams are working real hard) or, check out www.actsofkindness.org and find ways in which you can do good in your community, too!
