As a Frigidaire Test Drive Mom (yeah, I don't know how that happened...either) my family and I have tried, really, really hard to break test the awesomeness that is our new dishwasher, microwave, gas range and refrigerator!
Then, the washer and dryer came and, well, things turned a little, you know, ugly (not Frigidaire's fault, btw) and I finally HAD to admit (out loud) that, you know, I'm kind of enjoying doing the laundry...sort of.Then, a few weeks went by (gotta love the summertime, right?) and, although, I'm a little behind on my posts (see: summertime) I no longer fear feeding the laundry monster -- in fact, I sort of look forward to it.
Finding another pair of incredible shrinking pants...not so much.
To be honest with you (and you know I will, right?) I've been through A LOT of dryers and feel safe to say, all the fancy-schmancy cycles in the world won't keep something from shrinking, a little, or keep you from pulling a piece of clothing out that nearly burns your fingerprints off, or seems wetter than it was, when it went into the gosh-darned dryer, in the first place.
So, I was all, like, sure, Shrink Guard...my butt!
Key Feature: Shrink Guard - select shrink guard to lower the initial drying temperature to protect fabrics from overdrying.
TFH Tested: I've been drying our family's jeans (6 people x 4 pairs each, at least, makes for a lot of denim) using the shrink guard cycle and, well, it does seem a little more comfortable and I'm not cursing as much.
With the Frigidaire dryer, even when the load has reached the selected dryness level, it will continue to tumble during a cool down period, which also helps reduce wrinkling and makes items easier to handle during unloading.
No more burned-off fingerprints and...YEP...that IS a lot of pink for one load (three girls, I know) but, the kids are sleeping over various OTHER people's houses, this week and packed their jeans, already.
Laundry Tip: Over-drying can cause wrinkles, shrinkage, lint, harshness and a build up of static electricity.
Go figure.
I'll go more into the different dry cycle settings available, like, Sanitizing Our Laundry with Timed Dry (supposedly, removes 99.9% of bacteria) in a future post...hopefully...in the waaaaaay distant future...BLECH!
In the meantime, if anyone needs me, I'll be upstairs...pretending to be asleep (stupid summertime insomnia) wake me up when Ty Pennington calls!
