I love the clean layered look of t-shirts and tank tops; slap on a pretty, jacket (or, sweater) along with a pair of shiny earrings and couple of strands of beads (or, choker) and I'm ready for a nice date night out with my husband, Garth (not his real name) until, I glance into the bathroom mirror.
"WTH!?!?"
I swear, those EXTRA layers weren't there an hour ago and what is up with my hair!?!? I'm not opposed to wearing shapewear (seriously, especially at BlogHer) but, I have yet to find something that makes me feel good AND is comfortable.
So, when The Clever Girls Collective contacted me about trying Yummie Tummie (two words I wouldn't use, in the same sentence, much) I was skeptical.
Until, I took it for the ultimate road test!
I was given my pick (thank you!) and chose the original tank (in white) and layered it with one of my favorite t-shirts, that I don't wear often, since it is very, very sheer.
Here I am, on yet ANOTHER errand, waiting for my two oldest girls at the orthodontist's office, on Friday (t.o.t.a.l.l.y.b.o.r.e.d) when I decided this would be a great opportunity to, you know, take a quick peek in the bathroom mirror.
Okay, the dreaded sideview (holds breath) actually, I am NOT holding my breath and STILL feel very, very comfortable. According to Yummie Tummie, here's why:
Secret minimizing panel shapes entire waistline from the bust to the hips: suprisingly, I can STILL breath.
Firm control microfiber panel naturally wicks moisture away: more suprisingly, no extra little sweat beads rolling down my middle.
Extra-long design does not roll up over your belly: even more surprisingly, I was able to tuck it in my pants and it stayed in place, as well.
DOWNSIDE: I still had to wear a bra (it's been 90+ degrees, every day, in Jersey) but, I ordered a size large and now believe that a medium would have fit, better.
FINAL VERDICT: I've been looking for a tank top like this for a very long time. It is comfortable AND stylish (unlike some shapewear that looks best worn under your clothes, ONLY!) and is well worth the cost (the original tank retails or about $70) in fact, I would love to have another one.
In black...or, brown...heck, something this yummie, one in EVERY color would be real nice, right?
