My middle girl and I are allergic to mango and, cooking for 6 people, I feel pretty lucky that's pretty much the extent of the food allergies we're dealing with at our house.
Still, their schools have become vigilant in monitoring the snacks that they share with their classmates and I can only imagine how hard it must be for those families with children suffering from severe food allergies.
I received a copy of The Divvies Bakery Cookbook and was very happy to learn that there are plenty of yummy treats with no nuts, no eggs, no dairy.
Like, author Lori Sandler's famous fudge recipe -- which, I am VERY happy to have been given permission to share with you -- first, a little more about the author:
When Lori Sandler’s son Benjamin was diagnosed with severe food allergies to dairy and nuts at a young age, she decided to take action.
While she wasn’t trained as a pastry chef, she had many fond memories of visiting bakeries as a child and wanted Benjamin to experience those same warm moments and treats.
And so after years of testing, tasting, and refining, the Divvies Bakery was born in 2005, a bakeshop dedicated to peanut-free, tree nut-free, milk-free, and egg-free products located in South Salem, New York.
Did you know that Divvies also gives back?
In support of their work, Divvies donates a portion of every gift box of cookies purchased to this group. They also place a card in each of these gifts acknowledging this donation in the name of the recipient. Divvies applauds every effort being made to find a cure for food allergies of all kinds.
Divvies is so grateful for the outreach and research being done by such fine organizations as the Food Allergy Initiative.
Pretty cool, right? Now, here's a quick sample of what you'll find inside of The Divvies Bakery Cookbook - just click on the graphic below and their famous fudge recipe is yours!!!
