That's me (the Amazonian-ish one on the left) making with the Cookie Balls at the Kraft Kitchens (I am a member of their Delicious Bytes blogger community)
The kids and I get so FIRED UP this time of year -- especially, when it comes to homemade treats -- we ALL have such GRAND plans about baking just about every cookie imaginable and gifting them to family and friends.
With only 14 more shopping days left until Christmas -- less than that, if you count FREE SHIPPING -- we're getting down to the wire, now!!!
[ducks to avoid flying tinsel]
My friends at Kraft Kitchens sent along some GREAT ideas on how Once-a-Year bakers (like me) can sweeten someone’s day with 5 Edible Holiday Gifts and, of course, my family's new favorite, No Bake Cookie Balls!
Chocolate Holiday Bears: They’re adorable and delicious!
Holiday Chocolate-Dipped Delights: So tasty, you’ll want to save some for yourself.
Reindeer Cupcakes: Fun to decorate. Even more fun to eat!
Sparkling Tree Cakes: These mini cakes are a great way to spread holiday cheer.
PHILADELPHIA Sugar Cookie Cutouts: Cut cookies into stars, trees and moons or come up with your own original shapes.
I got the chance to make these Cool Mint OREO Cookie Balls during my visit at the Kraft Kitchens Delicious Bytes Event last month and, well, YUM!!!
Here's the recipe:
WHAT YOU NEED:
6 oz. (3/4 of 8-oz. pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1 pkg. (15.25 oz.) DOUBLE STUF OREO Cool Mint Creme Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, finely crushed (about 4 cups)
2 pkg. (6 squares each) BAKER'S White Chocolate, melted
6 drops green food coloring
2 Tbsp. chocolate sprinkles
MAKE IT:
MIX cream cheese and cookie crumbs until well blended.
SHAPE into 40 (1-inch) balls. Mix melted chocolate and food coloring until well blended. Dip balls in chocolate; place in single layer in shallow waxed paper-lined pan. Top with sprinkles.
REFRIGERATE 1 hour or until firm.
SIZE WISE:
Enjoy these bite-size treats with built-in portion control. One cookie ball per serving goes a long way on flavor.
HOW TO STORE:
Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.HOW TO EASILY DIP BALLS:
To easily coat balls with the melted chocolate, add balls, in batches, to bowl of melted chocolate. Use 2 forks to roll balls in chocolate until evenly coated. Remove balls with forks, letting excess chocolate drip back into bowl. Place balls in prepared pan; let stand until firm.
