I know, I know, not everyone likes suprises. In fact, I know quite a few people who can't stand them.
I am NOT one of those people.
Especially, when I used to work full-time (in a real office, with an actual door, I mean) I loved participating in Secret Santas.
Which is why I am excited to be a part of the JCPenney Secret Santa Blog Tour this holiday season, featuring their new Santa Tag: an easy-to-use QR code that gift recipients can scan and listen to when they open their gift.
Which means, I got to play Santa and gift another blogger with something on his or her wish list.
Sounds fun, right? Still, there's a reason why it's called the holi"daze," and just how easy is it?
- I scanned the QR code on the Santa Tag using my smartphone and then entered my mobile number as prompted.
- I received an automated call from JCPenney and recorded my holiday message (you have about minute, or so) to my Secret Santa blogger.
- Peel and place the tag on the gift and, well, that's it!
I am a JCPenney customer IRL, so finding a gift for my Secret Santa was very, very easy (SO MUCH fun, btw) and it took all of 5 minutes to scan the tag and record my message.
My Secret Santa Blogger will receive his or her gift, scan the Santa Tag with his or her smartphone and then be able to hear and respond to my holiday message with a quick text.
How fun is that, right?
Santa Tags are free with a purchase and can be picked up at any of the participating stores’ customer service desks.

I can't wait for my blogger to receive his or her gift! Also, truth be told, I'm dying to find out who MY Secret Santa is. I'll let you know, next week!
