Last week, I had the EXTREME pleasure of being asked to attend the Nuclear Cowboyz Freestyle Motorcross Show at the IZOD Center and I invited my 13 year-old son and one of his best buds along for the ride.
Today, I'm EXCITED and recovered enough to be able to share more about this awesome family-friendly experience: although, there are lots of pyrotechnics involved which may be less enjoyable for families attending with children who are easily frightened by loud noise or fireworks.
We arrived 2 hours before the show (you never can tell with Jersey traffic) and immediately headed towards the VIP Fallout Zone where we got the chance to meet & greet the Nuclear Cowboyz and the rest of the performers in the show.
That is to say, the boys got their posters autographed, while I wished each of the riders, "Good luck and PUH-LEEZE be careful!" because, you know, once a mom, always a mom...right?
There were plenty of fun photo opportunities with performers (this guy is from the Cyborg Army, entertaining and very nimble little devils ) although, I could not convince my son orhis best bud to let me take their picture...teenagers, right?
We were allowed up to our seats about an hour before the show and...YES!...they were AWESOME! Check it out:
THIS SHOW IS INDEED FAMILY-FRIENDLY: My son is a bigtime BMX/X-Games-type fan, so the EXTREME stunts performed by the Nuclear Cowboyz (seriously, I didn't think you could physically do that with a motorbike) was right up his alley.
I enjoyed the much tamer performances of the Cyborg Army, Metal Mulisha (their spelling, not mine) and the Soldiers of Havoc.
Also, because I was too busy covering my eyes and worrying about the boyz on their motorbikes (see video above!) however, the boys and I agreed the laser show was totally AWESOME!
Feel free to check out the Nuclear Cowboyz Touring Schedule for 2012 (upcoming shows in Tacoma, WA, Portland, OR, Ontario, CA and Mexico city, MX) or visit the Nuclear Cowboyz on Facebook to see for yourself.
NOTE: There are lots of pyrotechnics involved which may be less enjoyable for families attending with children who are easily frightened by loud noise or fireworks.
