I am very honored to partner with the Kellogg's Champions of Great Starts program as a featured blogger for Team Kellogg's. Why? Really? Okay, let me think.
[one beat, two beats]
Dude, this Jersey girl and self-proclaimed professional dork got to hang out with U.S. Olympians! You can catch up by reading more about:
- Day 1: 100 Days until the 2012 Summer Olympics kick-off event.
- Join me on a walking tour of the U.S. Olympic training facility in Chula Vista, CA.
TODAY: 50 days away from the Opening Ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and with the Olympic gymnastics trials beginning June 28th, I am very excited to be able to share with you my interview with fellow Team Kellogg's Mom, Rita Wieber!
I had so much fun getting to know Rita (also, a mom of 4) she is a true sports mom (like me): committed to helping her children find their passions, to follow their dreams, be "mindful of every moment" and accept the fact that Mom will always be their biggest fan!
I want to take this moment to thank Rita for being such a gracious interviewee (yes, it's a word!) as this was my first interview in front of a real live professional camera crew and everything.
Good luck at the Olympic gymnastics trials, Jordyn!
YOU CAN LEARN MORE ABOUT RITA AND OLYMPIC HOPEFUL JORDYN WIEBER AND/OR WISH THEM WELL ON THEIR JOURNEY BY: visiting Jordyn Wieber's Good Start Story.
Look for Rita's book Gym Mom: The Twist and Turns of Your Daughter's Gymnastics Career, due to be released this month! Congrats and good luck to you too, Rita :)
I'm looking forward to sharing more about the Champions of Great Starts with continued stories of:
- A sneak peek at upcoming Kellogg's initiatives.
- A roundtable discussion on nutrition.
Which I will be more than happy to post...on another day...because, truth be told, with 2 kids graduating next week and my son down with mono (just got the news today, YO!) I'd much rather save you the trouble of experiencing the backlash of that sort of crazy and, well, you're welcome!

Disclosure: I am honored to partner with Kellogg's in helping families (like mine) achieve great starts to their days. I am being compensated for my services for the length of the program. Kellogg's also paid for all travel and lodging expenses, as well as keeping us very well fed, for this event.
