Review of Fellowes Paper Shredder and Tips to Help Prevent Home Office Injuries

Did you know that June was Home Safety Month?  Me, either.  Still, if you're raising a family (or, pets and killer dust bunnies, like me) you can't be too careful, right?

Especially, if you work from a home office (i.e. carving out a piece of the living room and claiming it as "mommy's work space") like me.

I had the opportunity to test out a Fellowes PS-79Ci featuring SafeSense, a cool technology that includes an electronic sensor that surrounds the shredder’s paper opening and shuts down the machine immediately when it comes in contact with the energy field created by humans or large pets. 

 

The clean laundry pile and the Doofus-dog (a.k.a. Rudolph in typical "Super Dog" pose) which happens to be located directly to the right of my desk and it looks like this, pretty much, every day!

Yes, it sounded like a pretty good fit (for our house) so, how it go?

Ever since I was little, I loved to play around my mother's desk and pretend that I was, you know, the boss of everybody.  Today, my kids are no different except they don't ever listen to me.

"This is mine, you can't have it!"

The little buggers insist on using all of my note pads and papers, leaving me nothing but lined-loose-leaf paper (not very professional, I think) and I just can't keep enough pens (or, pencils) in the house.

Why?

Because, they asked and I said...YAH!...quite frankly, the girls and I fought tooth and nail over all the awesome stuff inside!

It's no secret, I love gadgets -- especially, multi-functional thingamajigs, whose main function is to make my life a little easier -- and I haven't been THIS excited about a product since, well, they invented the ratchet, which makes a wonderful meat tenderizer.
