Nintendo Family Fun and Stuff: MLB Power Pros 2008

MLB Power Pros 2008 was released on July, 29 2008 (Wii and PS2) and our new best friends at Nintendo were generous enough to send us a copy.

Yeah...I know...I'm not quite sure how that happened, either.

Actually, I do.

Our family has joined the 63% of parents who believe games are a positive part of their children's lives and they just can't seem to put the Wii down!

Anyway, see those quirky little Lego-like Mii-looking things, up there?  They are the "mini-MLB players" you'll find on MLB ower Pros 2008 and...YES...they are just as fun to play with, as they are to watch!

Just ask my 9-year-old son AND expert-gamer in the house.

Wii Sports - Getting your kids AND grandparents off the couch!

As most parents (like me) may have already suspected, the computer and video game industry is growing and, according to PC Magazine, the number of U.S. households with game consoles rose notably, up from 33% in 2007 to 38% in 2008.

Thanks to our new best friends at Nintendo, we now have a Wii!

You see, I tried to win one over at City Mama's and shared my most embarrassing fitness story.  No, I didnt win.  Got runner-up, though.  But, this time, the infamous Kotex-Karate mishap (as my two oldest girls like to call it) went terribly right.

Seriously, you'd think their Grandparents would have learned how to share...by now...yes?

This Full House Favorite Find: Help your child learn to swim with Konfidence.

Playing at the beach, wading at a water park, paddling by a lake, or splashing in a pool on a hot day is a real summer treat for families, like ours.  It is also a very weary time for parents, as drowning is reported to be the second most common cause of death from injuries among kids under the age of 14.

Our youngest turned 7, last week (Happy Birthday, Baby!) and it recently occurred to me that all 3 of her siblings had learned to swim, by now.

Even with her water wings, Mini-me felt awkward and uncomfortable like, well, a fish out of water - so, we happily agreed to submit our review for a good quality swim jacket and found confidence, with a capital "K!"
