Stop & Shop New Jersey Mom Blogger Event - So, Do You Blog From Joisey?

Last Christmas, over 100 of my blogging friends and I got together and blogged about the This Bank Can't Fail campaign (spearheaded by my blogging friend and fellow Jersey Girl Deborah Smith of JerseyBites.com) to Blog Out Hunger on behalf of the Community Food Bank of New Jersey and families in need across the garden state. Growing up, our family was no stranger to hunger. Well, I asked my friends at Stop & Shop if they would like to help sponsor This Full House with a call out for donations in support of Blogging Out Hunger and they seemed to... Read more →

Co-ed Sleepovers: Yay, Nay or NO FREAKIN' WAY?

Growing up and letting go, one child at a time! Remember the other day? You know, when I first realized that my 7-year-old daughter admittedly accepted the fact that it's tough being friends with a girl and NOT be sucked into all the meanness? How do I know this? Because, I was a girl (once) and STILL feel the sting of being singled out for wearing a pale lemon yellow body suit, without a training bra, in the 3rd grade and (especially, if you were a girl once) you know that some girls grow up to be moms and are... Mommy the Frenemy Slayer

Growing up, I didn't have a lot of friends. Girls, I mean. I guess it was around the time I entered the 2nd grade (my youngest girl's age) when I realized that little girls weren't very nice. In fact, I quickly learned that some little girls could be very, very mean, too. "Look she's got boobies!" I'd like to believe that, like me, Buffy has since grown up, gotten over the fact that she felt the need to single me out, in front of the entire 3rd grade class, for wearing a pale lemon yellow body suit, without a training... What's My Name, Damnit?

Thing Two's bridging ceremony to Junior Cadets, last year, at least I think that's where we were and what my daughter's name is. I was in the middle of yelling at my middle girl -- yes, I holler at my kids, all the time, act surprised anyway -- and then I did the unthinkable. "Don't walk away from me...uh...er...um...Thing Two, COME HERE!!!" I forgot my 13-year-old's name. "I hate it when you call me that!" Really, from the "eat granola and die" look on her face, I would NEVER have guessed. "Why can't you just use our real names?" Because,... Read more →

Marketing to Moms: What Mombloggers Are Really Reading - I've Got Your Content, Right Here!

Okay, in real life, I'm a mom with 4 kids, 2 cats, a sock-eating chocolate lab (who thinks he's one of my kids) 1 very over-worked husband (who happens to look A LOT like Garth Brooks) and way too much laundry. Got it. Even though I'm just another mom -- albeit, living out loud and in full view of, well, everyone who has ever visited This Full House of dingy whites and mismatched socks -- my reasons for deciding to go ahead and hit the publishing button haven't changed much. Riiiight. I may only be from Jersey -- seriously, we... Read more →
