Wordless Wednesday: Seagulls. Rock.

Taken on Manasquan Beach, NJ on a much warmer day, in November. #nofilter “Can miles truly separate you from friends... Wordless Wednesday: Restore the Shore

Took a drive to Manasquan Beach this week, they're still working on it. Restoretheshore.com has partnered with several non-profit organizations providing on-going relief to local areas affected by Superstorm Sandy. ©2003 -2013 This Full House with a fan page on Facebook and everything! I'm NaBloPoMo-ing it, feel free to check out what I've NaBloPoMo-ed, so far (PHEW!) and let me know how I'm doing (I mean, 30 posts, in 30 days, really?!?) when you have time, of course! Read more →

I don't remember ordering coffee light, sweet or upside down.

I am SO NOT a morning person, however, as long as there's a cup of coffee handed to me within the first few minutes of opening my eyes, along with a clear path to a vacant bathroom, I'm good. Once I regain the power of speech, typically soon after taking a very hot shower and inhaling another cup of coffee, I'm better. Which makes entertaining overnight guests a bit problematic. Unless you happen to live with a morning person, like Garth (not his real name), who also happens to be an early-riser. He is the ying to my....daaaaaaaaang, it's early....wait,... Read more →

Sharing in a little bit of November magic.

When my husband, Garth (not his real name) heard that Melisa was going to visit with us, his initial reaction was, "Uhhhhhh, okay then, where are you going to take her?" Considering it is November and summertime is pretty much over on the Jersey shore, after traveling all the way from Chicago, he was afraid the weather would not cooperate and that she would be bored. On the contrary, Melisa and I have been going non-stop since she got here: we dropped her bag at the front door and headed back out to explore the hiking paths that run through... Read more →

Sandy Castle, the world's tallest sandcastle.

One of the many reasons I love living on the central Jersey coast (yes, ON PURPOSE!) is our close proximity to, well, everything. Agricultural and dairy farms, campgrounds, hiking trails, lakes surrounded by two state parks and OF COURSE our favorite beaches are ALL less than a 30 minute drive from our front door. Problem is, I want to show ALL of it to Melisa or, at the very least, do my best to make her...you know...want to come back to Jersey. Yesterday was our first full day of exploring, so first thing on my list of "show Melisa ALL... Read more →

When even a walk in the park, is no walk in the park.

One of the many reasons why I love living on the East coast (and YES, there is more than one reason to love Jersey, shuddup!) is our ability to experience all four seasons...sometimes all in the same week, even...so today, it's autumn. Oh, hello there Autumn! It's been a very stressful week/month/year/seriously, it's probably better if we just quit keeping score, because...DAYUM!!!!...it's hard out here with teenagers...the stress, she is NOT leaving...so, I kicked myself out of the house and took my two oldest girls with me, because they really should learn to plan on NOT being home...a little better...next... Our Stay, Play and Eat Weekend at Morey's Piers

My family and I were very honored to have been invited, as special guests of Morey's Piers, to spend the weekend in Wildwood, NJ and meet the famous Morey brothers, in person. Okay, so I was THRILLED!!! I got to revisit some of my favorite childhood memories of summertime(s) past: when my twin brother and I would spend our days playing on the beach, as my parents sunned themselves while listening to my dad's favorite doo-wop radio station (WCBS FM 101.1), and then follow the parade of flip flops, begging our parents for "Please, just one more quarter?!?" to play...
